STRENGTH IS ESTABLISHED FROM THE MOUTH OF CHILDREN

"YOU HAVE TAUGHT CHILDREN AND BABIES TO SING PRAISES TO YOU [out of the mouth of babies and infants you have established/founded strength] BECAUSE OF YOUR ENEMIES. AND SO YOU SILENCE YOUR ENEMIES AND THOSE WHO TRY TO GET EVEN [revenge]."
Psalm 8:2 (Expanded Bible)

"YOU HAVE TAUGHT CHILDREN AND BABIES TO PRAISE YOU. You do that to show your enemies how strong you are. ANYONE WHO TURNS AGAINST YOU [God] HAS TO BE QUIET. YOUR CRUEL ENEMIES CAN DO NOTHING!"
Psalm 8:2 (EasyEnglish Bible)

"OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES AND NURSING INFANTS YOU HAVE ORDAINED STRENGTH, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.”
Psalm 8:2 (NKJV)

God does speak through the children.
God has ordained strength through the mouth of babes and nursing infants (Psalm 8:2).
Babes and nursing infants are tender and their spirits are sensitive to God (Matthew 18:10).
What God did in the text, Psalm 8:2, using the praises of infants to establish strength is a way to spite or peeve and silence the adversaries—those who are the enemies of God.

God speaks through the children, do not despise their words.
As a believer in Christ, you must have a family altar in your home; where you, your spouse and the children could come together and worship; talk to God about the matters of life.
You should:
• Teach your children how to read and study the Word of God. Buy a copy of the Bible for each of them, If they are yet to have:
6 AND THESE WORDS WHICH I COMMAND YOU TODAY SHALL BE IN YOUR HEART. 7 YOU SHALL TEACH THEM DILIGENTLY TO YOUR CHILDREN, AND SHALL TALK OF THEM WHEN YOU SIT IN YOUR HOUSE, WHEN YOU WALK BY THE WAY, WHEN YOU LIE DOWN, AND WHEN YOU RISE UP" (Deuteronomy 6:6,7 NKJV).
• Also, as your children grow in the knowledge of the Word of God, give them the opportunity to share whatever they have learnt from the passages of the Bible they read. You would be amazed to hear what they share, God speaks through the children!
• Know that you have a responsibility to train your children in the way of the Lord that they may not depart from it when they grow up: "TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO, AND WHEN HE IS OLD HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT" (Proverbs 22:6 NKJV).

One important aspect which you should not neglect is your own spiritual life (1 Timothy 4:16).
Whatever you tell or teach your children would not be done or practiced If they could not see you doing the same.
What makes the teaching, whatever your children are taught, productive is when they see you doing the same.
Much talk would not be involved If they could see you doing whatever you are asking them to do. Even before you told them, or taught them, to be reading the Word of God, the Bible; they would have been doing it, either to mimic or copy you—children are copycats.

Teaching your children to toe the path of righteousness, serving God, would not be difficult If they could see the practicality of your Christian life and faith.
However, If you are not a doer or practicer of whatever you are asking them to do, it would be an uphill task to get them to do whatever of God you might want them to do. It is your doing, your way and manner of life, that will spur them into the doing of godly things—serving God.
Children ordinarily would not just be inclined to follow the way of God If they could not see someone who is following that path or way, especially someone who has a great influence over their lives; and usually parents are the most suitable persons of that great influence they can easily be yielded to follow: "WHEN I CALL TO REMEMBRANCE THE GENUINE FAITH THAT IS IN YOU [Timothy], WHICH DWELT FIRST IN YOUR GRANDMOTHER LOIS AND YOUR MOTHER EUNICE, AND I AM PERSUADED IS IN YOU ALSO" (2 Timothy 1:5 NKJV).

For your children to be a defence and terror to the enemies and to silence the oppossers at the gate (Psalm 8:2; 127:5); It would all start with what they could learn from you—what they see you doing and what you teach them (Deuteronomy 6:6,7; Proverbs 22:6).

3 BEHOLD, CHILDREN ARE A HERITAGE FROM THE LORD, THE FRUIT OF THE WOMB IS A REWARD.
4 LIKE ARROWS IN THE HAND OF A WARRIOR, SO ARE THE CHILDREN OF ONE'S YOUTH.
5 HAPPY IS THE MAN WHO HAS HIS QUIVER FULL OF THEM; THEY SHALL NOT BE ASHAMED, BUT SHALL SPEAK WITH THEIR ENEMIES IN THE GATE."
Psalm 127:3–5 (NKJV)

Peace.
