TH0SE WHO KNOW GOD AND THOSE WHO KNOW ABOUT HIM 1

"THAT I MAY KNOW HIM AND THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death."
Philippians 3:10 (NKJV)

"THOSE who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; BUT THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD SHALL BE STRONG, AND CARRY OUT GREAT EXPLOITS."
Daniel 11:32 (NKJV)

• There is a difference between when It is said that someone knows God and someone who knows about God.

  • There are some people who know the Bible in Hebrew and Greek, and some even in Latin, such people might be said to know about God.
  • But there are other set of people, those who know God, understand Him, and walk in an intimate fellowship with Him.
  • Ability to explain, or expatiate the Bible, does not mean a person knows God intimately—having a close communion with Him.
  • Some have been to different theological seminaries, they can talk about things in the Bible, they are analytical in the expatiation of the Bible, but a number of such do not have intimacy with God.
  • Some are not even born-again among them, and those who are, are not walking with God intimately.
    a. They have the head knowledge of the Bible, but do not know the God of the Bible.
    b. They know about God, but do not know God personally and intimately.
  • Such are those who usually argue with the manifestations of God's power.
    a. They doubt every move of God.
    b. They would tell you that the time of miracles had passed away, God is no longer performing miracles.
    c. Such people say the operations of the gifts of the Holy Spirit had passed.
    d. They said healing is no longer being effected by God, that is, God is no longer healing people.

• Christianity is not theoretical. It is not about having a head knowledge of who God is, but about having a relationship, fellowship or communion with God.

  • Christianity, or being a disciple of Christ Jesus, is practical. It is what whoever pledges his or her allegiance to Christ Jesus, someone who made the commitment to follow Him, had to do or practice practically.

  • It is not a religion, which is a way of reaching or pleasing God. But It is about walking together with God in a Father-son's or Father-daughter's relationship.

  • It involves intimacy, communion, love, and understanding. It is not about looking at God from afar or seeing God as a distant God. No.

  • It is about talking to God and hearing from Him, in a Father-son's or Father-daughter's relationship.

  • It involves affectionate love, known as philēo in Greek: which means to be a friend to God or fond of God, that is having affection for Him—denoting personal attachment as a matter of sentiment or feeling.

  • In other words, a believer's or a disciple's relationship with God should be affectionate; such would be a friend to God or be fond of Him (John 15:15; James 2:23). A personal attachment, even in feelings, would be between the Believer and God.

  • If a Believer grows to be this, what is shared here, such a person knows God, not just that he or she knows about God. THERE are many who know about God, but do not know God; experientially, intimately, and they are yet to be His friend (John 15:14).

  • A true disciple of or a believer in Christ Jesus would strive to grow in his or her walk with God, to become God's friend and confidant (Isaiah 41:8; James 2:23; John 15:14).

  • Those who grow to this point in their relationship with God, know things concerning God through their experiences (Psalm 25:14), their knowledge of walking with Him, which those who only study to know about God, through theology, could not understand, decipher or unravel or know.

  • This is why some of the theologians, those with head knowledge of God, could not understand some things shared or said concerning God, by those who walk intimately with Him.

  • The knowledge of these ones comes through intimate relationship and fellowship with God. It is not about what they read or were taught, but through their experience; their practical knowledge of walking with God and revelation (Galatians 1:11,12).

  • An example of this is found in the Book of Acts 4:13; when Peter and John were talking before the Sanhedrin, the religious governing leaders, they marvelled and said the Apostles were untrained men, how did they have such boldness and got to know all they were saying. But they concluded that they had been with Jesus.

You will not fail in Jesus' name.
If you are sick in your body, I declare that you are healed in Jesus' name.
Peace!

STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).

  • If you took the steps As highlighted above, congratulations, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
