WORKING FOR GOD
"FOR WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS FOR GOOD WORKS, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)
"FOR WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP [His own master work, a work of art], CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] FOR GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED [for us] BEFOREHAND [taking paths which He set], SO THAT WE WOULD WALK IN THEM [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]."
Ephesians 2:10 (Amps.)
• One of the major ways to be endeared or be affectionately embraced by God is to work for the propagation of His Kingdom on the earth.
- Whoever is born-again is called to serve God's interest. What interests God should interest you as well.
- Serving God to a large extent is mainly about working to enlarge His Kingdom on the earth.
- You cannot claim you are serving God without being committed to His Kingdom. Some give their money, that may be good; but giving your time or being there in person is also required or needed—It attracts rewards.
- When you get involved in whatever is done where you are planted by God, whatever package of blessing sent through the church or ministry, yours would be included.
- The lives of those who are committed to God and His Kingdom are precious to Him and all that belongs to them:
17 “THEY WILL BE MY PEOPLE,” SAYS THE LORD OF HEAVEN'S ARMIES. “ON THE DAY WHEN I ACT IN JUDGMENT, THEY WILL BE MY OWN SPECIAL TREASURE. I WILL SPARE THEM AS A FATHER SPARES AN OBEDIENT CHILD. 18 THEN YOU WILL AGAIN SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE WICKED, BETWEEN THOSE WHO SERVE GOD AND THOSE WHO DO NOT" " (Malachi 3:17,18 NLT).
• Thus, working or being a part of the workforce in the local church you attend or belong, or serving under a ministry which God has stirred your heart to work, or running a parachurch ministry, makes a covenant to be established between God and you—through the acts or things you do for His Kingdom.
- Note:
a. You life is made precious through your service in the Kingdom.
b. When others are plagued or troubled you are preserved and protected because you serve in His Kingdom on the earth. What kills others would not kill you; you and all that belong to you would be preserved because you serve (Malachi 3:17,18).
c. Through service your descendants are blessed and preserved and made to be part of whatever covenant God made with you.
• You are saved to serve:
"FOR WE ARE GOD'S MASTERPIECE. HE HAS CREATED US A NEW IN CHRIST JESUS, SO WE CAN DO THE GOOD THINGS HE PLANNED FOR US LONG AGO" (Ephesians 2:10 NLT).
- You have been in the Christian Faith for a while now, a couple of months or years or whatever. If I may ask:
a. What are you doing for Him?
b. What are your contributions to the expansion of God's Kingdom on the earth? - If God's Kingdom is not your priority, It means you are not serving His interest. What interests or engages or arouses the attention of God should be a thing that interests you also! Serving God is all about serving His interest!
- God's Will is that every believer should be passionate about His work or Kingdom on the earth. Your life should be lived to please God after you have pledged your allegiance to Him through Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:15; 1 Peter 4:2).
• No one should be idle in God's Kingdom on earth. Whatever you are doing should be towards the building and growth of God's Kingdom on the earth, directly or indirectly (Ephesians 4:16).
- Whoever is born-again should no longer live for himself or herself again but for God Who through Christ saved him or her: "AND HE DIED FOR ALL, THAT THOSE WHO LIVE SHOULD LIVE NO LONGER FOR THEMSELVES, BUT FOR HIM WHO DIED FOR THEM AND ROSE AGAIN" (2 Corinthians 5:15 NKJV).
READ: 1 Peter 4:2
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any sickness in your body, you are made whole from the sickness in Jesus' mighty name.
- As from now onward, you will live in health all the days of your life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace.
STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
