4 THEN THE SERPENT SAID TO THE WOMAN, “YOU WILL NOT SURELY DIE.
5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it YOUR EYES WILL BE OPENED, AND YOU WILL BE LIKE GOD, KNOWING GOOD AND EVIL.”
Genesis 3:4,5 (NKJV)

• In acquiring knowledge, care must be taken on what you expose your mind to.

  • What you feed your mind with, determines what you desire in your heart.
  • As good as information is, it can be dangerous if it was not properly applied.
  • You must be able to know the informations that you allow in your mind, and the ones you should not allow.
  • The information you expose your mind to, determines the craving in your heart. Eve's desire for the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, does not come from her, but from the word she heard, information she got from the serpent, the devil. She was told that the fruit would make her wise and she would not die by eating it, as said by God.
  • Sin increases daily because of information technology.
"THE WOMAN WAS CONVINCED. SHE SAW THAT THE TREE WAS BEAUTIFUL AND ITS FRUIT LOOKED DELICIOUS, AND SHE WANTED THE WISDOM IT WOULD GIVE HER. SO SHE TOOK SOME OF THE FRUIT AND ATE IT. THEN SHE GAVE SOME TO HER HUSBAND, WHO WAS WITH HER, AND HE ATE IT, TOO" (Genesis 3:6 NLT).

• Eve and Adam ate the fruit and they discovered their nakedness (Genesis 3:7).

  • Disobedience would lead to shame! They wanted to be independent of God, but shame and reproach was the outcome: "AT THAT MOMENT THEIR EYES WERE OPENED, AND THEY SUDDENLY FELT SHAME AT THEIR NAKEDNESS. SO THEY SEWED FIG LEAVES TOGETHER TO COVER THEMSELVES" (Genesis 3:7 NLT).

• If you are tired of divine providence, you wanted things to be done in your own way, you may end up in shame.

  • They were ashamed when they discovered their nakedness, they went into hiding (Genesis 3:7,8).
  • God always wanted those who are His to be under His guidance. It was not God's plan that we should live without Him, independently of Him.
  • God is interested in every area or department of your life. However, God will not force anyone to follow His way, He has given us freedom to choose whatever to do—humans are free moral beings.
  • Unfortunately, many have abused the power of choice given to them. However, whatever the choice every individual believer made, they would be responsible for it. In other words, you would have to bear the consequences of whatever choice you made.
  • Some out there have chosen to live their lives independently of God, they would not want Him to interfere in the affairs of their lives.
  • The truth is, If you chose to live without God because of your wealth or whatever achievement, you will come out to regret it.
  • The reason being that, God is the source of all things. If things are working for you, you are making progress in all you do, God knows about it and He has allowed it

• God will not tempt you with evil:
13 AND REMEMBER, WHEN YOU ARE BEING TEMPTED, DO NOT SAY, “GOD IS TEMPTING ME.” GOD IS NEVER TEMPTED TO DO WRONG, AND HE NEVER TEMPTS ANYONE ELSE. 14 TEMPTATION COMES FROM OUR OWN DESIRES, WHICH ENTICE US AND DRAG US AWAY. 15 THESE DESIRES GIVE BIRTH TO SINFUL ACTIONS. AND WHEN SIN IS ALLOWED TO GROW, IT GIVES BIRTH TO DEATH" (James 1:13-15 (NLT).

  • Evil desires emanates from what you expose your mind to and the evil desires lead to evil actions, and the evil actions lead to death (James 1:13-15).
  • You take a responsibility for desires in your heart. God will not tempt you with evil desires.
  • Whatever evil desire you may be battling with in your heart, It came in there when you were off-guard of your mind.
  • You did allow a wrong information, brought by the devil, and it later produced the evil desire.
  • If you are battling or struggling with any evil desire, check what you had exposed your mind to; in conversations, readings, and things you watch or listen to online and other sources of information.
  • This generation is bombarded with informations every second, minute, hour, and day. And such informations are not the ones that could edify an average believer. Therefore, as a believer in Christ Jesus, you have the responsibility to guard your heart: "KEEP THY HEART MORE THAN ANYTHING THAT IS GUARDED; FOR OUT OF IT ARE THE ISSUES OF LIFE" (Proverbs 4:23 DARBY).
  • If you exposed your mind to x-rated films and other dirty things on Internet, you cannot but grapple with evil desires.
  • Parents had the responsibility to guide their children or wards on what they watch on telivision and Net.

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.

  • Should there be any ailment in your body, you are made whole now in Jesus' mighty name.
  • The affliction will not rise the second time in Jesus' name.
    Peace!

STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).

b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).

  • If you took the steps As highlighted above, congratulations, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
