SC-S29|Geo-Quest Mystery – Week 4: History Glitch
This is where Catholic movements began in Akwanga Local Government of Nasarawa State. Some people are calling the place old Catholic convent school sisters of Notre Dame (SSND), whereas some are calling the place the old Catholic fellowship residents.
The place is one of the oldest places in the town which is where Catholic activities began in late 1833. It began as a school and residence for the Reverend sisters.
The place was invited by Bishop Matthew Ishaya Audu who was the then bishop of the Catholic diocese of Lafia to admistered our lady of apostles girl college in Akwanga. The place is a congregation with a long history of religious life traced back to 1833.
Currently, the place has been given out to the community which is being used as a nursery school, and for poultry farming. There are a lot of mangoes in the old convent.

From the entrance of the place, the gate shows it is an old place, and the signboard has been removed and kept outside which is best known to the community elders. However, a large church gathering like a crusade is usually held in the place.
At the entrance, there is a stone in the middle of the old administrative building, and I can't really tell what the stone signifies. However, beside the stone inside the convent, there is an abandoned dam which has been turn to a pit.

Everything in the place is looking old, and unkept. Despite how the place is the history of Catholic schools, hospitals, and churches cannot be complete without mentioning the place as it is where everything began.
