I have visited my favorite beach, Akilpur, in the final week of this Geo-Quest journey. My experience in this mystery contest series has been extraordinary. Except for the 1st and 3rd weeks, I visited various places in the other weeks, uncovered the mysteries of those locations, and left hidden secrets as entries for the other participants.

In this final week, my journey took me slightly north of my area’s to the coastal environment of Akilpur Sea Beach, which is about 5 kilometers north of my home. Located on the coast of Kumira village in the Sitakunda Upazila of Chattogram, this beach is a vast tidal area, and tourists can visit it using public transportation.

This place is a "final treasure" to me because I started this contest series in a high hilly area and I'm ending it on the vast land of the sea. The clear blue sky above and the vast ocean in front have completed my journey. Another reason for visiting here is that it is one of my favorite places; even though I visit it every day, it feels new to me every time.

Final Narrative & Personal Photos

The past three weeks were an amazing experience for me, and I was able to understand and feel many things. Starting from the Sound Map in the 2nd week where I visited the hilly region, to the History Glitch in the 4th week with the remnants left by the British government in Chattogram, and the Route of Clues in the 5th week which is my regular route to prayer—all in all, I’ve had a great experience.

I went to Akilpur Beach to conclude my journey, where I stood on the sand and watched the sea from very close, enjoying the golden hour sunset at the end of the day. It felt as if I were standing in a place of pure tranquility. A beautiful dog was there with me as a witness, who seemed like a very loyal companion. Alongside, I saw a boat tied up, swaying on the water.

I was standing on the sandbags watching the sea. In fact, I know how important these bags are; since my home is in a coastal area, we often have to fight natural disasters like cyclones, which have a long history. This reminds me of the 4th week’s "History Glitch." These sandbags like a protective element for us so that the rising sea water doesn't cause a tidal surge.

I was watching the countless waves of the distant sea with my open eyes. Honestly, no matter how far I looked, the waves seemed never-ending. While the waves near the shore were crashing against the rocks, the distant waves were quite calm. I could clearly hear the sound of the waves and the water with my ears, which reminded me of the "Sound Map" from the 2nd week.

If I were to speak about the success of this beach visit, I must mention the moment of the golden hour during the exquisite sunset. This moment cannot be truly felt without seeing it right in front of your eyes. Over time, the sun turned a bloody red, and that color reflected on the water as the sun merged with the sea.

Another thing about the beach that must be mentioned is the large square-shaped concrete stones. Standing on the edge of these stones, one can touch the sea water during high tide. Since the stones are quite sharp, one must stand on them carefully. Getting close to these stones reminded me of the concrete road in the "Route of Clues" from the 5th week near our local mosque.

By visiting Akilpur Beach, I have been able to connect and feel all my experiences from participating in previous weeks of the Geo-Quest Mystery through the elements of the beach.
