I am in San Francisco / the Bay Area; How Should I Promote GRIDCOIN?
Hey @dutch, @sc-steemit, @dutch, @grider123, @peppernrino, @cm-steem, @jringo and the other GRC freaks here ...
Like many of you here I am supporting GRIDCOIN - despite all the problems that still need fixing - since it is just sad to see so much "overhead computation" being "wasted" on other crypto currencies (yes - I know - I'm over-simplifying). I am also a researcher and have done a little bit of BOINC crunching in the past.
Being a researcher has recently brought me to the bay area and to the birthplace of the BOINC project at UC Berkeley. Hence the question: I think that Gridcoin is a cause worth supporting and being in the area might make for some nice opportunities to generate momentum. There are a lot of techies here and a lot of potential investors.
My personal ideas evolve around a typical video-blog thing, carrying a flyer / card around for social events, and creating a local "blockchain society". Before I invest the little time I can spare and miss out on more optimal ideas:
What are your thoughts? What does Gridcoin need in terms of local activism? What could be initiatives that scale and actually generate more Gridcoin researchers / investors?
I'm hoping to generate some leads for activities / materials / whatever / that somehow bring across - at best directly embody - the unique value propositions of Gridcoin (supporting actual research projects; earning money while doing so; potentially n-time return investment; etc.).
I'm excited to see and discuss what you can come up with down below in the comments...
On a more serious note, I am not sure. I agree that this is a great opportunity, and look forward to reading about whatever you end up doing.
