I Reached My Goal of 5K STEEM POWER ... but it is still not enough!
Hurray! I powered up another 100 STEEM and pushed my STEEM POWER balance above the 5K mark.
NOTE: I am not a dolphin yet. An account's oceanic status is determined by VESTS and not SP. I have only 8,124 vests; So, I am only 81% of the path toward dolphinhood.
I set my site on 5K back in September when STEEM was still trading at over a dime. I really couldn't imagine STEEM dropping below a dime.
I bought $400 in LTC and started moving it into STEEM. Immediately after my purchse both currencies fell by 10%.
ooops.
Back in September, an account with 5k in SP would have an upvote over two pennies.
Steem Block Explorer reports that my 100% upvote is worth only $0.0185. I am only 92% of the way to my goal.
I guess I need 5405 SP for a two penny upvote, and I've run out of resources.
Argghhhhh!!!
The problem with the two penny goal is that value of one's upvote is determined by the price of STEEM. Were STEEM to raise about a dime, I would have achieved the goal. If STEEM continues to drop; then I go further and further from my goal.
I feel quite frustrated.
The Picture
The 26th prompt for #inktober is "puzzling." I asked night cafe to generate an image of robots working on puzzles.

Congratulations, you've helped the ecosystem function better, but it would be even better if this were a global movement. Let's create a specific day for Power Up so we can all contribute to improving our platform. What do you think?
I think that it is best for people to power up as they go. For example, I power up 100% of my author rewards. This means I have nothing to contribute on #SPUD.
When I was buying this month, my purchases where all based on the current market. Trying to time my purchases to coincide with #SPUD would have resulted in irrational trades.
Thanks for the reply. I think that SPUD is good in that it encourages people to think about powering up ... it is especially welcome with the price of STEEM is weak.
