This is my entry for Sunday's #goldenhourphotography contest
hosted by @juliank.
Southern California summers continue to be more like that of the Eastern part of the United States. Instead of the typical golden round Sun setting in the horizon, we have been blessed with clouds.
A quote I’ve probably used too many is most fitting…
“Don’t forget: Beautiful sunsets need cloudy Skies”
~~ Paulo Coelho

Thank you @photocircle for your invaluable curation efforts!
Amazing capture brotha! That silhouette of the ferris wheel and rollercoaster came out perfect. It looks like you took that from the bike trail and not down by the beach.
Thank you brotha. You nailed it. I was coming back from my evening bike ride. Photo was capture on the bike trail next to the old muscle beach.
Crazy how those clouds opened up like that. We never have clouds like that this time of year. You owe global warming a lot! Soon your place will be ocean front (;
Its not funny! Water temp is already 73-74 and its still August! Come down tomorrow and see first hand. Take some photos for once.
That's so wrong. I heard it was 79 down in la jolla and they were getting water snakes from the tropics! I'll def be down tmw afternoon.
This is probably your first sunset shot without the sea (or at least the first one I have noticed since I started following you hehe :) but it is just as stunning! I love those silhouettes. Based on the location of the pier and the mountains on the right, I think I know quite exactly where you were standing while taking this fantastic image :)
Great point my friend! I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone (; I recall you had posted some photos awhile back from around here. You literally walked right past where I live.
I think the best photos can only be made when we get out of our comfort zone :) Oh yeah, I remember you commenting on those photos of mine from Santa Monica and Venice ;) How far is it from your house to the beach?
I'm about a half a block from Ocean Park beach area of Santa Monica ("Dog Town").
Wooow, awesome location! :)
That is a wondrous photo @armentor and the depth and beauty is non other.
Thank you man. I am fortunate to live so close to share this photos with all. Best to you!
Beautiful sky! :)
It was special... actually, mostly all sunsets are special.

Greatly
Greatly appreciate your curation efforts. Thank you.
The cirrus clouds have such a wonderful texture here, with the wind drifting through them, giving your golden sunset an amazing photo op.
It doesnt hurt to have that bonus silhouetted ferris wheel. Nice touch!
Those clouds were the surprise we rarely see this time of year, which resulted with the sun setting behind the Ferris Wheel.
It definitely is waving a winning flag out!
Great photos, @armentor
I just recently watched a video on the Internet about this pier )
Thank you for sharing. Put a smile on my face as that goes right by where I live and where I bike on that trail almost daily! And it is to Alan Walker's song "Faded".
Amazing sky, really full of clouds, but those ones not completely covering the sky and there will be no rain so that is good. You are right the clouds make the sky more interesting :)
It was a great surprise with these uncharacteristic cloudy summer nights.
