O LORD, ANOINT ME WITH THE OIL OF GREATNESS

READ: I Samuel 9: 1-4;17-19; 10:1
Key Scripture: Then Samuel took the vial of oil, and poured it on his head, and kissed him, and said, “Isn’t it that Yahweh has anointed you to be prince over his inheritance?” (1 Samuel 10:1)

THOUGHTS
Greatness is the blessing of being successful in life. The world has its own standard for rating who is great and who is not great. However, we are looking at greatness from God’s perspective. A truly great man has the oil of God for exploits upon his head. He does what ordinary men do in an extraordinary way and he does extraordinary things in supernatural ways because he has the oil of God upon his head. David and Saul were ordinary men – one looking after his father's flock in the bush and the other, looking for his father's missing ox. What distinguished them from every other man was the oil of God, which was upon their heads. The oil made a difference in their lives. When you are anointed, powers of inhibition are broken away, curses are destroyed and evil veils are torn off. When you are anointed, you begin to magnet favour. Anointing brings favour upon a person’s life. Anointing sets the pace of greatness for you.
