Go with your Gut- It’s the Other Brain!
Meme pic sienceabc.com
This expression has a lot more behind it than it just being a mere saying. The Gut Instinct is very important often times we regret not following that message that came from our gut. Like brain foods, your gut needs healthy food to keep it strong and vital. You have probably heard of probiotics, right? You may even spend a lot of money on probiotic supplements.
However, have you ever heard of pre-biotics? Pre-biotics include the foods that nourish and promote the probiotics. Yup, all those healthy bacteria need to eat too, and there are certain foods they especially like. Conversely, unhealthy or bad bacteria also have their favorite foods and may be the culprit behind your cravings for refined foods and sugar.
You may be wondering how Cannabis will play into this post on going with your gut and improving gut health. Worry not for I will tell you!
What is a prebiotic
Prebiotics are the food your bacteria feed on…Yes you have bacteria that you feed- living, multiplying and growing within you..buwahahahahaha.

Not as scary as it sounds, yet this farm of living bacteria that you have in you make and break your overall health whether you realize it or not. It is very important that you feed them and keep them strong so your Gut instinct remains healthy. So here are foods that I eat to keep my bacteria farm healthy happy and strong.
Seaweed
Micro algae- Spirulina and Chlorella
Miso
Fermented Kimche or Sour kraut
Natto- also a rich source of vit K

Start to incorporate them in your diet and you will see results over time. Keep in mind though that there may be increased activity in your digestion as your microbiome takes off! In more to the point words be sure you plan your weekend to be at home while the balancing out takes place. If you are already healthy, this may not be an issue for you.
Cannabis
Cannabis has a positive effect, not only on mood, promoting relaxation and creativity, but also promotes digestion. If you are tense, nervous and can’t relax there is no way you will be in the mood for food. Though certainly people do eat under stress. It affects how you absorb food and many times poor food choices are sought out which feed bad bacteria etc. as stated Cannabis as an herb is well noted for the aforementioned positive affects.
The strains I have been talking about in previous posts are wonderful to incorporate in your herbal regime. Since stress is a big factor in many lives today, I chose a strain more to the Indica side of the percentage. Indica strains and hybrids to the Indica dominant are great for helping you to sleep, de-stress and relax. I have used such strains in my own life very effectively with marked results. . Cannabis therefore is an excellent choice for helping to improve your gut brain health and I am sure that your bacteria will thank you and also flourish.

Love it! Sharing and following you!
Thanks for the information @bigcatcannabis. Do you think drinking tea made from cannabis is effective?
Of course. The Green Union advocates ingestion for the sick!
Yes absolutely! Like Ganjafarmer is pointing out it has a place in health. Another interesting use, many growers juice the fan leaves that they remove. Great source of chlorophyll! Cannabis has so many wonderful uses. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks @bigcatcannabis. I enjoy it as tea with coconut oil and a tiny bit of honey. And I've used the leaves in smoothies and so on. The tea seems to help me sleep.
