Smoking is the process in which burned substances are taken into the body by means of the taste buds, digested and absorbed into the bloodstream. This is a practice in some cultures where it is believed to be a ritual necessary to enable man be in high spirits, which is needed to be able to consult and communicate with their gods.
Smokes are most commonly made of tobacco dried leaves, which are made into small squares and rolled up into cylindrical shapes known as cigarettes
The burning of the tobacco leaves create a vapour which gives off active substances into the lungs, absorbed rapidly into the bloodstream and into the body tissues. The active ingredients are the contents of a drug that has active effects on living things

The active substance in the case of cigarette smoking, is aerosol particles and gasses, which also includes the pharmacologically active alkaloid nicotine.
All over the world, over one billion people practice smoking as it is seen as one of the recreational drugs with the majority from the developing countries of the world. Less commonly used recreational drugs include cannabis and opium.

The act of smoking is dated as far back as 5000BC. It started in association with religious ceremonies which were given as offering to gods for the purpose of cleansing or allowing priests to lift up their minds for the purpose of divination.

This should be out there for people to see. There is a reason why even the cigarette companies always put tis slogan "smokers are liable to die Young" yet people don't seem to understand the implication.
