Regarding regular maintenance of NTV for keeping the mental health of the parents of children with disabilities, Mohammad Selim Chowdhury spoke on health everyday in the 2931th episode. He is currently doing PhD research in the Department of Education and Counseling Psychology of Dhaka University.
Q: What should be seen in the mental health of parents of disabled children?
Answer: About 10 percent of our children are disabled in our country. Research has proved that if they have mental health, they can provide good services to children. I believe that the mental issues of their parents who are disabled in our country are still neglected.
Every time a child is born, parents have a hope that healthy-born children will be born. Whenever this child is a little exhausted, then all the parents and children from different families, different types of torture, social prejudices, they come to their parents. There is a matter of family blame in the parents' house. Many forms of prejudice are put on family, parents and children.
Q: But many more mothers of these things, because the baby is born in the mother's womb. What do you think?
Answer: Almost all the blame has brought on the mother. I have found so many ways that the separation of parents has been extended, for that kind of child. Then the mother fell into a depression. Father often blames the mother. It is seen that after they are afraid to take children. They are in fear that the next child will be disabled again or not. Feel social pressure. Another is the lack of cooperation. There is a lack of family social support. In this case they become frustrated. Recent studies have shown that mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, and depression are seen among those children who are disabled. In addition, many signs of mental illness are seen in them. The effects of these children fall on them. The child is not served properly due to the problems of child's mental problems. The development or development of the child is not the way it is. If it is long-term, the mother will be depressed again. It is within this cycle. The pressure that is given for a normal child or normal child, is more than just for a disabled child. For most of them, they can not do the same energy that parents can use, yet they also have mental health problems. Thus, the child's development is hampered. In the end the whole family is in social or psychological pressure. It also depends on the intensity of the child's disability. The problem of disabled children is different. Some people have a little bit of a problem, some of them are moderate, some are very intense. Therefore, those children who are severely impaired are more intensely, those parents have more mental problems. A disabled mother and father first say who will see this child after my death? This is the anxiety. This makes them more mentally weak. Many parents pray like this that I would die before my child. So much so hopelessly alive. The hope is that in the recent times we have medical systems, many children are asked to measure the mental problems of their parents as they become disabled. Some organizations have started that work. In this they think that the mental support of the child, the physical mental health of the child, should be advised to ensure the mental health services of the parents.
Q: What are the health concerns you need to emphasize in case of disabled parents?
Answer: I want to say that when the child is severely disabled, the parents want to go somewhere, they want to visit, but they do not even have the opportunity. Because, there is no such social, state structure as to where he will keep the child safe. If the child could be kept safely for some time, even if the developed world followed, but they could have their own mental health service, then their pressure could be solved. This is a matter. Although the government is taking enough steps in this regard. What is then, is that such a non-government organization is not in our country, where parents will keep their child slightly thinking about their mental health.
Q: Do you think that while working with this department, do you think that people should play some role in keeping the mental health of the parents right?
Answer: When we see such children with disabilities, parents come and they do not receive any kind of support from anywhere. Even they do not get any help from their relatives. If we could make sure that there were any changes in this, if there were any changes in this, if there were family and social relations, there are state structures, then there were structures of non-government organizations, then it could be seen that the mother and father of the child could take care of themselves as well.
If I say that there are children centers of development in our government, then these children will be able to stay in peace as they can be accommodated. Apart from this, if there is a variety of psychotherapy of children with disabilities in government management, KA
