For people working on losing weight, guava leaves can be of great help. Guava leaves are effective in weight loss because it prevents complex starch from converting to sugar. A recent study by Yakult Central Institute in Japan made it clear that consumption of guava leaf has the ability to lower blood sugar level because it reduces alpha-glucosidase enzyme activity in the body.

Like I mentioned in the beginning part of this post, guava leaf contains anti-inflammatory compounds and this helps fight toothache, oral ulcers and swollen gums. According to a Nutritionist Anshul Jaibharat, you have to grin the leaves, that is mash it into a paste and then apply it to the affected area for these benefits.
