I never heard about benefits of silver in water. Will do a search over the internet. Over dosage of copper may cause problems so I think keeping water overnight (8+ hrs) might be avoided. 4-5 hours will be beneficial.
The people that travelled overland in wagons kept a silver dollar in the water barrel to keep the water fresh.
Colloidal silver is a powerful antibiotic that I keep in my first aid kit.
