Scientists have created "live" bandages for the treatment of wounds and burns

Russian scientists from the National Research Technological University (NITU) MISiS have developed a dressing material, "built" based on polycaprolactone nanofibers.
Fibers are "impregnated" with antibacterial composition and components of human blood plasma and allow not only to promptly treat burns and cuts, but also prevent the infection of blood.

Biodegradable dressings made from such fibers twice accelerate the regeneration of tissue cells, as well as promote non-scarring wound healing.

These properties were obtained thanks to the use of silver nanoparticles and the attachment of antibiotics, as well as an increase in bioactivity due to the application of hydrophilic groups and plasma proteins to the surface.

Such dressings, according to experts, can be included in the composition of both the usual car first-aid kits, and in the equipment of emergency personnel.
