Community clinic pioneer rural health services in Bangladesh

There are several fundamental rights reserved in Bangladesh's constitution. Health among them is one of the main fundamental rights. The government of Bangladesh has taken various steps to protect these rights. As a part of this, the government of Bangladesh has set up community clinics to ensure the healthcare of the rural people.

About 13,000 community clinics were planned, but until 2001, nearly eight thousand clinics were completed. This great initiative was interrupted after the government changed. In addition, the rural people are deprived of health care.

In 2008, Sheikh Hasina's government came to power again.The government again decided to reorganize community clinics. More than 13,000 clinics are now operational. Completely free health care is provided from these community clinics. About 90 million people take healthcare services from community clinics every year.
