5 Tips on building muscles and burning fat at the same time
1) Switch up your workouts
Our bodies are capable of adapting to different environments and circumstances. It is important to keep your body engaged by switching up your workouts when you can. Instead of just going to the gym try to get outdoors and exercise in a local park, forest or even on the beach a couple days a week. Fresh air will do a good job at recharging your batteries and making your workout more energetic.
2) Be intense when exercising
It is important to always challenge your body and mind by keeping the intensity high. Do not spend long periods between sets or exercises being on your phone or chatting to your workout partner. Give your muscles just enough time for a quick recovery and get back to doing what you were doing. This not only keeps the body engaged but also saves your precious time as you are able to do a lot more in a shorter period of time.
3) Get sufficient sleep
Sleep is key to muscle recovery and fat burning. It is important to get seven or even eight hours of sleep every night. Most important hormones are released when you are sleeping so cutting on your bed time will severely cripple your ability. Being tired also means you are unable to train as hard and eat right.
4) Eat small and regular
Eating a lot in one sitting can cause bloating and drain your energy as your body digest all the calories you have just munched on. For this reason it is best to eat small and regular, ideally every 3 hours. Keep your meals balanced with protein, carbs and fat and plan ahead for the day to avoid eating fast food and unhealthy snacks.
5) Limit your alcohol intake
This should be a given but if you are a drinker then you must consider cutting down or stopping altogether. Alcohol has been proved to diminish our body's ability to recover as well as hindering fat loss. Alcohol also lowers your testosterone levels which is extremely important for building muscle and burning fat. Limit your alcohol intake, drink in moderation and never regularly if you want to see some real results.
