Hormone of happiness // intro

Hello my fellow Steemians :)

Today we will be talking about friendship, good diners with friends and family, and healthy food. Of course, I want to talk about benefits on the mental and therefore physical part of ourselves within those things. Remember, they are connected and we have to nurture both.

First, let's talk about what a good mood does to your body. It has some pretty nice impact on our whole life believe it or not. am not talking only about people with mental problems, I'm talking about everybody on this planet who want to live a good quality life.



The first thing that you hear when you go to treat your condition is some kind of therapy or pill or something like that. For some people, those things are crucial but before that, I want you to try to help yourself. There are some changeable factors of your life that you can make an impact on and you can manipulate with them.

How to reduce stress, improve your mood or just live more easily with yourself and others? I don't know the professional or doctor-like answer but I know some tricks that helped me and in which I really believe.

I want to focus on our dear serotonin or "hormone of happiness". It works in the sphere of mental health/depression or schizophrenia, appetite, mood swings, cardiovascular and respiratory system, metabolism disorder, etc.



I want to give you some not so hard tasks with which you can improve the levels of Serotonin in your organism.

Since we are in a digital age, the first thing I want to is the social connection and I mean face-to-face social connection. You can shove yourself with pills and all that shit and in the end, you will still need some kind of company to function all those things in front of them. We are very social creatures and we need the approval of other people so we know how to balance our emotions and reactions.

We are a herd, just like the animals, we need other people. We are not meant to live alone or to be in isolation. We have an old, middle and new brain and our old brain, which is the most important one, think socially. So don't lock yourself in your home, you won't do anything. Go outside and talk, share, have emotions with other people.



The next thing I want to emphasize is your physical activity. You have to stay active because your body and your mind are connected as I talked before. It is like some kind of automatization. When you improve your body health, automatically you improve your mental health.

Next to the serotonin, when you're active, you also release endorphins which give you more energy and with that, they improve your mood.

Regular exercise can improve your mood, even improve your memory, help you sleep better, help you with your emotional state, etc. And even if you don't like to exercise, just walk as much as you can. Some people think that walking is not exercising, but it is, just not so intensive like other training strategies.



The third important thing is food or your diet. We have a saying "you are what you eat" and man... That is so true. Have a day full of fruits, vegetables, and good meat and compare it with the day full of snacks and fast food. How are you feeling at the end of each day and at the beginning of the new one? Just think about it.

I don't want to bother you too much with names of the hormones or the things they do in a particular place in your body but I want you to think with your head and start to do some simple things to help yourself.

Eat healthily, pick your groceries, take time in your kitchen. Certain food can make wonders in your body, you just have to find that food. Be patient and it will pay up for the rest of your life.



I want to finish this topic here because in some other post I want to write more details and have one post describing each of these things I've mentioned. I just need to ask you something.
