Oh No, Not the Biting Guests! 🦟🕷️

Summer is finally here! We’ve got sunshine, ice cream, and backyard hangouts on the menu. But there is one tiny, uninvited guest that tends to crash every outdoor party: the bugs.

We are officially entering "bug season," and it's not just about the annoying buzz in your ear. We’re talking about the tiny critters like ticks and mosquitoes that are looking for a snack—and by snack, I mean you!

Ticks are the little troublemakers of the grass. They might look small, but they can carry some pretty serious stuff, like Lyme disease. And since our weather is getting warmer and staying warm longer, these guys are getting more comfortable and staying active for more of the year.

Then, we have the mosquito squad. They love the heat and humidity, and they can bring along viruses like West Nile. Basically, the warmer it gets, the more these little pests seem to throw a party.

The good news? You don't have to stay inside all summer! You can still enjoy the great outdoors if you play it smart. Here is my quick "Bug Survival Guide":

  • Suit up: If you're trekking through tall grass or woods, wear long sleeves and pants to cover as much skin as possible.
  • Spray it on: Grab a reliable insect repellent. It's your best line of defense!
  • Do a quick check: After a hike or a day in the yard, do a quick "tick check" on yourself and your pets to make sure no hitchhikers tagged along.

Don't let the tiny biters ruin your summer fun. Stay smart, stay protected, and go enjoy that sunshine!
