Traditional Fish Curry Recipe with a Modern Twist

Assalamu Alaikum, I hope everyone is well and enjoying their lives. Today I am going to share a fish recipe on how can cook it. There are many ways to cook it. Some people like to fry it, some people make a curry out of it, and eat it. So today I will share a curry recipe on how we can present it.

Fish Curry

First of all, I am going to share some of the ingredients used in this recipe, which I have separated into pictures. These are all the ingredients that we will use to make this curry. What is in it? Each one has been divided into separate parts. Below are the ingredients for each one separately.

Ingredients


Washing Fish


Ingredients:

Fish 1 Kilogram
3 to 4 Lemons 
Celery / Ajwain 2 Tablespoons
Garlic Paste 2 Tablespoons
Basen Powder 2 Tablespoons
Vinegar Circa 2 Tablespoons

When we bring fish from the market, there is a special way to clean it so that all kinds of smells are removed from it, and it is cleaned properly. First of all, we have to take lemon and celery, and along with it, we have to take garlic paste, mix i,t and apply it on the fish, and keep it for some time. After keeping it, we will wash it.

Before washing it, we will sprinkle two spoons of besan powder on it and mix it. After mixing it, we have to add water to it. Along with the water, we have to add vinegar to it so that the smell is removed. After adding this, we have to rub it well. After rubbing, we have to wash it with water.


Marinating Fish


Now we have to marinate these fish pieces properly. To marinate them, we will need a paste. All the ingredients used in this paste and their quantity are given below.

Ingredients:

Fish 1 Kilogram
Red Chili Powder 1 Tablespoon
Turmeric Powder 1 Tablespoon
Salt As Per Taste
Celery / Ajwain 1 Tablespoon
Dry Coriander Powder 1 Tablespoon
Mix Spices 1 Tablespoon
Fish Fry Spice 1 Tablespoon
Garlic Paste 1 Tablespoon
Ginger Paste 1 Tablespoon
Lemons 2 to 3 

We have to make a paste of all these ingredients. After mixing this paste, we have to take each piece and apply it properly. In this way, after applying the paste to all the pieces, we have to keep it in the freezer for two hours so that the spices are well absorbed inside.

After keeping it in the freezer for two hours, we will fry it. To fry it, we only need two ingredients, one of which will be mustard oil; you can use any kind of mustard oil, and the other will be our fish, which we have to fry.


Frying Fish


Ingredients:

Fish 1 Kilogram
Mustard Oil 2 Cup

First of all, we have to pour mustard oil or any oil we like into any pan and light a fire under it so that the oil gets hot. When the oil gets hot, we have to take two or three pieces and put them in it and fry them for two to three minutes. Fry them well on both sides. After frying, separate them.


Cooking Process


Ingredients:

Fish 1 Kilogram
Mustard Oil 1 Cup
Onion 3 Medium Size
Tomato 3 Medium Size
Green Chili 5 to 6 
Garlic Paste 1 Tablespoon
Ginger Paste 1 Tablespoon
Red Chili Powder 1 Tablespoon
Turmeric Powder 1 Tablespoon
Salt As Per Taste
Celery / Ajwain 1 Tablespoon
Dry Coriander Powder 1 Tablespoon
Mix Spices 1 Tablespoon
Fish Fry Spice 1 Tablespoon
Fenugreek 1 Tablespoon
Garlic Paste 1 Tablespoon
Ginger Paste 1 Tablespoon
Lemons 2 to 3 

When it is fried well, we have to keep it aside and in the same oil in which we were frying it. If you feel that it is less, then add more oil to it. If that oil is full, then you have to add the onion first. After adding the onion, you have to fry it well. Then you have to add ginger, green chili, and garlic paste to it. You have to add tomato paste as well.

After adding all these things, we have to stir it well so that the onions turn brown and all the things with the oil are mixed well.

Our next step is to add spices to it. First of all, we have to add salt to the spices, which we will add according to our taste. After that, we have to add one spoon of turmeric, one spoon of red chili powder, and one spoon of black pepper powder, and mix them well.

After stirring them well, we will then add the hot spices, one tablespoon of celery, and two tablespoons of lemon juice, and then stir them well again so that everything is mixed well.

Our final step is to add the fish fry national spices and a spoonful of dried fenugreek for the best taste. After adding these things, we now cook it well for 10 to 15 minutes until the oil leaves the spices. When the oil separates, we cook it until it is cooked.

When our spice is well prepared, the oil will separate, then we have to put the fish pieces in it, place the fish pieces separately in their respective places, and after that, we have to steam them well. We have to steam it for about 10 minutes on low heat.

It only needs to be steamed for 10 minutes because we had already fried the fish pieces, so they were already half-fried. Now we have added it to this spice mixture. We will steam it for another 10 minutes, and it will be completely ready.


Finally Ready


I have used all the ingredients in the best way possible, thanks to which my delicious recipe has been prepared. You will be eating fish curry in different ways. Try this recipe as per my instructions. You will like it a lot. This is the final look of my dish.

I have placed it on a separate plate and garnished it with green chillies and ginger pieces to make it look more beautiful. Two lemons have been placed on the side.
