A Visit to the Lekki Conservation Center
Hello everyone, I had my introduction post yesterday and this is officially going to be my first story. I’m very excited sharing this experience with you.
I took this photo two weeks ago on a visit to the Lekki Conservation Center during my vacation. As I mentioned earlier in my introductory post, I’m a young girl that loves exploring and adventures, I try to go on vacations at least once in two months. It’s just my own tradition of making sure I’m balancing living life together with work and going out there since I barely go out. I’m more of an indoor person. I work from home so you can tell I don’t go out much. So, let’s get back to the topic. I visited a lot of places at Lekki but today my major focus would be on the Lekki Conservation Center.
The Lekki Conservation Centre is a home to a lot of wildlife including crocodiles, snakes, monkeys and so on. The Conservation Center is built on a swamp with wooden bridges that leads to the canopy walkway. The canopy walkway is an adventurous bridge structured above the swamp forest floor with a scenic view including the forest wildlife, birds, sky scrapers, tops of tall palm trees etc
A Monkey at the Conservation
I had a few shots of the wildlife around. Above is the monkey of which I don’t remember the specific species. Next is a baby crocodile in the swamp which you’ll find below. I assumed it’s a baby crocodile because it was small and very calm. The wildlife are not in any form of captivity yet they didn’t seem to pose any threat to the visitors, maybe unless the visitors trespass I guess.

Although the monkeys, they seemed to love making trouble especially if they caught with food. So when you’re taking that canopy walk, ensure to keep your food completely zipped off, perhaps avoid bringing in food with you to the canopy walkway so you don’t get distracted and put yourself in danger of falling off the rails while fighting the monkeys.
Snakes, different birds and different species of swamp and forest trees are other wildlife you can find at the conservation. Although, I didn’t get to see a snake but my friend whom I went there with saw one. According to him, it was a big snake that was just minding its business.
In my next post, I’d be talking about the fun parts!. The parts where I climbed the canopy walkways, had two different wild flavors of ice cream and a terrible “asun rice”. I want to keep it a suspense. Thank you for reading today, see you at my next post.
