Harvesting Fresh African Pear: A Simple Joy from Nature

Hello, Steemians greetings to you all.

Today, i had the opportunity to spend some time outdoors harvesting fresh African pears, popularly known as ube in many parts of Nigeria. Moments like this remind me that some of life's greatest joys come from nature.
As you can see in the picture, i climbed the tree with a big smile on my face while holding some freshly picked pears. There is something special about eating fruits straight from the tree. They are fresh, delicious, and free from unnecessary processing.

African pear is one of the seasonal fruits that many Nigerians look forward to every year. It is rich in healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals that are beneficial to the body. Some people enjoy eating it raw, while others prefer to soften it in warm water before eating. It also tastes great when served with roasted or boiled corn, making it one of the most loved traditional combinations during the rainy season.

Growing fruit trees requires patience. A tree takes years to mature before it starts producing fruits, but once it does, it continues to provide food for many seasons. This reminds me that good things often take time. Just like the pear tree, our efforts today can produce rewarding results in the future if we remain patient and consistent.

Spending time around nature also brings peace of mind. The fresh air, the green leaves, and the satisfaction of harvesting fruits with my own hands made today a memorable experience.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Do you have African pear trees in your area? How do you like to eat your pears with roasted corn, boiled corn, or on their own? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

I can almost taste the freshness of the African pears right from the tree - what a wonderful experience you must have had! I'm curious, how do you typically store and preserve the harvested pears to enjoy them throughout the year? 🍊🌳👍
