Warm greetings to all the amazing Steemians here! I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the blessings of each new day. It’s always a joy to share my experiences with this incredible community, so today I want to briefly recount how we celebrated Mothering Sunday at our church and how meaningful the day was for my family. Mothering Sunday is a significant and emotional occasion in many churches globally, and our congregation's celebration was truly unforgettable. The service was held at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Use Offot Congregation in Uyo. Right from our arrival, the atmosphere buzzed with joy, appreciation, and gratitude for mothers and women who play vital roles in our households and communities. On that lovely Sunday morning, the women of the church, including my wife, took charge of the service. They organized the day's program beautifully to honor mothers. The church was splendidly decorated, and the women looked elegant in their lovely uniforms as they led various parts of the service.

The choir's performance was inspiring, singing songs that highlighted the love, sacrifice, and dedication of mothers. These songs prompted many to reflect on how crucial mothers are in raising families and nurturing children. The sermon that day also emphasized the value of motherhood and the importance of recognizing mothers for their endless sacrifices.
For me, this day held particularly deep significance. Having lost my own mother at a young age, I lacked the opportunity to grow up under her care for long. Thus, Mothering Sunday reminds me of a mother’s love and the importance of appreciating those who fill that role in our lives. That day, I focused on celebrating my wife, not just as my partner but also as the mother of our children.
My wife is a steadfast support for our family, showing love and patience in caring for the children and helping in various ways that often go unnoticed. Watching her take an active role in the church program filled me with pride and gratitude for having such an amazing woman in my life. I made sure to express my appreciation for her presence as both a mother figure and as the mother to our kids.
The service was uplifting and spiritually enriching, filled with prayers, hymns, and testimonies that fostered a grateful atmosphere. Many families took that time to honor their mothers, wives, and grandmothers. It was truly a moment of reflection and thankfulness to God for the gift of motherhood. By the end of the service, everyone united in praise and gratitude for the day’s success.

Typically, occasions like this call for further celebration after the service, with many treating their wives or mothers to lunch or a relaxing outing. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take my wife out afterward since she needed to travel back to Calabar to prepare for work on Monday. Her schedule left us with little time together post-church.
Right after the service and a brief moment of chatting with friends and church members, she got ready for her journey. By around 2 pm, she was already on her way to Calabar. Even though we couldn’t enjoy more time celebrating together, I felt grateful that we had experienced the joy of Mothering Sunday in church.
Later that evening, around 6 pm, she called to let me know she had arrived safely in Calabar. That news brought me immense relief and happiness, as traveling can sometimes be stressful. I thanked God for her safe journey.
All in all, it was a beautiful and meaningful day that reminded me of the value of mothers and the importance of appreciating them while they’re with us. I give God all the glory for a successful Mothering Sunday celebration and for ensuring my wife's safe travel.
