I just realized there's guava jam, I never knew that
Guava has always been a fruit that I really loved, at some point it even became like an addiction, three days wouldn't pass without me having some. But I know I need different foods for balanced nutrition so I try some apples, banana and groundnut.
When I buy the guava, I just gulp it down, I peel the skin sometimes but there are times are just bite into it like an apple. The manner in which those seeds and that pink, grainy pulp goes flying all over the place. The way the person sitting in front of me at work looked at me as if I were insane while I was eating it without peeling the skin.
Someone mentioned guava jam on X and I was really surprised, I've never heard of that before. The fruit that I have eaten, unselfconsciously my whole life. The fruit I never thought could be anything other than desert or eaten off toast.
I may attempt making it or I might go out to the market looking for some, I hope I find it because this is something I don't think I've seen before. To be honest I don't think I'll be very good at making jam, I know how to eat but I'm still trying to get good at the cooking the food part and I have some experience with burning things that really, really shouldn't be burnt.
I felt embarrassed burning jollof rice and a girl that's not even 15 years cooked it better. But in my defence, I started late learning how to cook. Now I'm a bit good at it so I don't think making jams will be a problem. I'll need to go on YouTube and find a tutorial, I'm sure there'll be something about it somewhere online.
I'm picking this video perhaps after I'm done I'll write my experience
