Story Telling Part 2 | Don't leave them alone at night

in Hindwhale Community20 days ago (edited)

Greetings to my fellow steemit friends, I started story telling part 1 yesterday and today I continue. Before I continue, this is fictional so when I refer to myself, it's also fictional and didn't really happen. Enjoy the story.

This is a story about two people that went home late at night. One of them was me. We lived in the poor part of the city where the streets were dark and always wet because of the rain. While we were on our way home, we saw two children who were alone in the car. With what I could see, there was one boy who was around 8 years old judging from the face and body. That boy made me worry, because I thought that he would not sleep if I went straight home, I decided to wait until his parents came so my conscience is clear that this boy was safe.

About 10 minutes passed and during this time, the child locked all the doors and turned off the car without taking the keys out of the ignition. It was clear that he was frightened by us men and so, we had to move away from the place so we don't scare the boy more.

After spending some time near the car, I shouted loudly that children should not be left in the car, especially in the place surrounded by prostitutes and drug users. I wanted that someone heard me and come for the children. Very soon, the mother of these children showed up and knocked on the window telling that child to open the door. Waiting for any action from the mother, she opened the driver's door and asked what was needed.

I answered her in a soft but firm voice that no children should be left in the cars, especially at night in a place so unsafe. In response, she said something and it was not something I even understood, she was speaking a whole different language, but with the expression I thought she was being grateful.

I approached the woman and she told me that we can go home, if we were afraid. I repeated my words again, telling her that children should not be left at night.

During this time I managed to look only at one boy, because the back windows of the car were dark. But, when she said that her daughter was 14 years old and left in the car, I shouted the same words again, repeating that kids should not be left in cars. Then, she looked at me with contempt and closed the window.

At this moment, I felt that she would not change her mind and so, I went home. But thinking later, I felt that perhaps I have been too aggressive, but I believed that leaving children in the cars at night is very dangerous and all it takes is one mistake.
