The Pepper Plants Stood Strong Despite The Rains
Farming can come with its own headache, especially during the unfavorable weather conditions. In Ghana it's the rainy season.
It's embarrassing to say we still have crazy road floods with a normal rainfalls but that of course doesn't have much to do with the farms.
Just like I said in the video, when it rains, it's the winds and also the force of the rain that I'm concerned with. That's the part of rainy seasons which does the damage. We're in the rainy season. The rains came and did the usual. For the farmers they always have to be alert, watching the weakest of the crops to ensure that it can sustain the pressure.
The water that pools and stays on the ground can quickly and easily damage plants. It also turna their leaves yellow and make them weak after.
If I am to make that symbolistic to life, the rain and storms represent the troubles that can break us. Many people would probably give up after this damage, but the plants have shown that this was not the case and standing your ground is exactly what you're supposed to do.
You can see in the video that these peppers are not even bothered by what happened. For the most part, they are recovering nicely from the water. Although some of the old leaves with the yellow spots from the rain are still there, new healthy leaves are already growing. The stems are developing nicely and green peppers are growing in clusters all over and sprouting well.
It is really interesting to see how crops can recover after just a little bit of time. The moment the ground dries well and the rich soil is restored, the crops have a chance to grow.
So, just because there was a heavy disturbance in the rain, it does not mean the farm will not give a good harvest. Just a little bit of time will show the farm will still be productive.
