The waiting game for Sugarcane
Who here has tried sugarcane before. My goodness it's so sweet. There's a reason why they put the word sugar in its name. But the problem with having them is that Sugarcane by its nature is a slower growing crop. It takes about one to one and a half years to be harvested. That is a long period of time and waiting for sugarcane to mature is no joke for a farmer especially when you're looking to make money so you can pay bills and take care of family. A farmer needs to keep the field clean and maintain it. The sugarcane needs a clean and manageable field to receive sunlight, water and a nutritious soil. If anything is off, the sugarcane won't be able to grow properly.

It is hard to simply wait for sugarcane to grow long enough to be harvested. Time will probably slow down when you're habitually looking out at the fields waiting for results. A lot of work has to be put in to maintain the fields growing insects, weeds and soil compaction and the fields still need to be checked on to ensure that the plowed soil is still soft and not compacted.
But the end result is really sweet. It matters to many people. The long wait a good harvest makes the wait worth it. A good healthy sugarcane plant is long and thick when it matures.
Not all farming can have a fast harvest. Some crops mature slower than other crops, and sugarcane is one of those slower crops. Rushing sugarcane will not increase its maturity, it will reach its maturity at its own speed. Waiting is obviously part of the process.
