Greetings
The diary game||"Decoration of the dining room for the freshers event"
Our hostel is named Sarojini Hostel. As is the tradition every year, we organized a Freshers' and Farewell event this year as well. Naturally, there are protocols to follow for such events; in accordance with these, the various tasks were divided among us. This was necessary because there were many invitees—guests from outside as well as twenty residents invited from each of the other hostels. There are about ten to twelve such boys' and girls' hostels, and invitations are sent to all of them. Preparing for this requires a collective effort, as it is a task no single person could manage alone.
To begin with, several committees were formed—including the Cultural, Freshers', Decoration, and Tiffin Management committees. The Cultural Committee was responsible for organizing daily dance and music rehearsals. The Decoration Committee handled the cleaning and decorating of the dining and common rooms. The Tiffin Management Committee managed the refreshments—a responsibility assigned to me on that particular day. Meanwhile, the Freshers' Committee oversaw everything else: stage setup, sound systems, lighting, purchasing necessary supplies and gifts, handling invitations, and arranging the entire catering service. Our hostel spent 150,000 rupees on this event, which amounts to 35,714 Steem.
Since the Freshers' Committee had a heavy workload but limited manpower, the Decoration Committee joined forces with them. Amidst this, everyone had to pitch in with the decorating tasks, as there were numerous small jobs involved in sprucing up the two rooms. Some people drew and printed out images, others crafted paper butterflies, some mounted menu cards onto thermocol sheets, while others helped with gluing and cutting out pictures—tasks in which I also participated. Finally, we all pressed our painted handprints onto a sheet of paper and wrote our names alongside or within them; the blending of everyone's colorful handprints created a beautiful piece of art.
I took photographs once the decoration was complete. Others also took photos on the day of the event, capturing the scene with the lighting in place. I am sharing images of the lighting arrangements from both before and after the event—moments and feelings that were, in a word, beautiful.
| I hope you will like my post very much. I will be back again with a new post later. Until then, everyone stay well. May God keep everyone healthy. |
