As my mom wasn’t feeling well for the past few days, it stayed in my subconscious mind that I needed to wake up very early. The doctor had advised some tests, and for that I couldn’t rely on local labs. Instead, we decided to go to a well-known and reputed testing lab that has been in this field for decades and has earned great respect and recognition.

Because the tests had to be done on an empty stomach, we had to leave early in the morning. Later in the day, I also had to help my maternal uncle, who had recently retired, with arrangements for a party he was hosting for his colleagues at Yousmarg.

Early in the morning, I headed towards Srinagar along with my mom and my sister-in-law, who is very caring when it comes to the health of our family members. She never compromises on medical issues and always encourages proper checkups, even if the problem seems minor, and this was the case with my mom as well.

When we reached the lab, it was quite early, yet the waiting hall was already crowded. It was disheartening to see so many people waiting. Meanwhile, my sister-in-law contacted a friend who knew someone working at the lab, which helped us get the tests done a bit earlier than usual.

After completing the tests, we headed back and also planned to visit a doctor at a nearby hospital. On the way, my maternal uncle called me a few times, asking me to buy some items needed later in the day. I managed to get those things quickly from the market. However, at the hospital, we had to wait a long time due to the online token system. It felt quite cumbersome and challenging, especially for people who are not familiar with such digital processes.

Once everything was done, we finally returned home. As I was nearing my house, my uncle called again, urging me to finish up quickly and head towards Yousmarg. He had already made most of the arrangements and packed the food in the car.

I quickly got ready, picked up my cousin on the way, and we started our journey towards Yousmarg. During the drive, it started raining heavily, which made the journey even more memorable. Driving through the rain in such scenic surroundings was truly a refreshing experience.

By the time we reached, most of the guests had already arrived. We welcomed them by serving Kehwa, the traditional Kashmiri tea, and later served them a proper Kashmiri Wazwan. Everyone enjoyed the food and appreciated the arrangements.

After everything was over, we wrapped up the remaining work and headed back home. It was late in the evening when I returned. Since we had a very late lunch, I didn’t feel like eating anything at night. Before going to sleep, I spent some time on social media and then called it a day.
