The Diary Game: Attending Family Thanksgiving 15-12-2025

Hello ladies and gentlemen of steemit. It's still your friend @joychi102 and in today's diary, I will definitely share with everyone how my day was. I went to the village this morning, as early as I could because my dad wanted to do Thanksgiving for everyone. This is what he has been doing every Christmas since I was a kid.

I went there and then my siblings didn't even wait for me to remove my clothes, they engage me with work in the kitchen. I immediately changed up and went to the kitchen to begin to prepare food. It was as if these guys planned me. I started off with washing of pepper and also to get the ingredients washed.

When I finished, the fish water had splashed on me so I went inside and changed up to another thing. Funny me, I couldn't resist the urge of going to see how the set up was outside so I went outside and checked, those that were contracted to put up the canopy had come and were doing their job, I went back to the kitchen.

After coming back, my mum sent my brother on an errand and he wanted to go with his bike, I told him to give me his bike that I will go, he thought I was joking, I took the keys from him and then I wore wrapper and began to get on my way to the place. I bought the item and came back home with the bike, my mum was still shocked that I could drive a bike even after so many years.

When I came back, I saw the ogene boys, they brought their local drums, I was so happy because staying in the far south, you won't see such, I went there and played small then took a picture with the drum before leaving. This reminded me of when I was a little girl, I even fell in love with one of the ogene players, it was just funny thinking about it now.

As the event started, we were all seated, I wore the same clothes with the women fellowship, I loved how they made these things very easy. I sewed my own clothes when I gave birth to my second child which is a boy, so I have all the right to wear the clothes now.

Immediately the Thanksgiving ended, I went back inside and told my dad that I will be returning to Akwa Ibom so that I can see a bus that was ready to go there, he prayed for me. I assured him I will be coming home with my family before Christmas Eve. Then I gave him a token and came back to Akwa Ibom State.

When I got here, it was very late so I saw my kids were already asleep. I appreciate my husband for making sure they get to sleep that early and also well taken care. I am very tired so I will just take my bath after this diary and then go to bed.
