The Diary Game: Making My Hair And Cooking 27-02-2026

Hello, ladies and gentlemen of Steemit, it's your friend, @joychi102 and in today's diary, I will be talking about how my weekend is going and it started.

So, Friday came and when my kids left the house, I ate and went to my shop to open, my husband wasn't home in the morning, he left as early as to go and meet up with the bakery guys. I opened the shop and I called my personal hair stylist to come to the shop and style my hair, it wasn't something much, just all back weaving and nothing too serious. She came and began to weave the hair, she was even the one that helped me with attending to customers because customers were still coming when she was plaiting my hair.

When she finished plaiting the hair, I gave her the money she charged me and then she left. When she left, I swept the shop and then my husband came back and gave me the bread he bought from the bakery, I arranged the bread to where customers could see them so that we will sell. After that, I sat down and had rest.

Another thing about provision shop is that there is no much time to rest and that's the truth. You don't have enough time to rest while in a lock up shop like mine, the only time you can rest is when maybe rain is falling, then customers won't come and then you will rest but if it's later, you won't even rest.

In the afternoon, my husband came back to the shop and since there was no food in the house to eat, he told me I should go to the market and buy food items so that I can cook and he told me I should cook banga stew with rice. He loves this food too much, the Igbo in him is very strong. My kids loves the food as much as he loves it.

When I left the shop, I went back home and made the list for the food then I went to the market and bought everything in the list. When I came back, I steamed the meat and parboiled the rice at the same time. When I finished doing that, I boiled the palm fruit.

After the palm fruit was soft and tender, I began to pound it so that I can use it to cook. After pounding it, I made the stew and also boiled the rice again then we used the rice to eat with the banga stew. That's what we enjoyed this evening as a family.

We were done eating this evening and I went to my husband's shop to help him serve customers so that he can come back home early and eat. I am always scared some times because he can go a full day without eating, I am always scared of ulcer for him, honestly. Right now, we are back home and he is eating, I will go to bed after this.
