Chess tournament for children

Yesterday, the Coimbatore District Chess Club organized a district-level chess tournament for school children at the Ashram Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore, with many students participating. The tournament was divided into four age categories—Under-10, Under-13, Under-16, and Under-18—with separate competitions for boys and girls in each group. All participants played seven rounds. My son also took part and played all seven rounds; he managed one draw but lost the other matches. This is because he has only been learning and playing the game for the past two years. Nevertheless, he picked up the skills quickly enough to participate in the tournament within just two weeks. Many of the other children competing had already won previous tournaments. We were not disappointed that he lost while competing against them; instead, we viewed this as a valuable learning opportunity for him. This video was recorded before the players took their seats; once everyone was seated and the match began, parents were asked to leave the hall, so we could not record a video of the actual gameplay.

It was great to know that your son participated in the incredibly beautiful chess tournament and he played brilliantly. This develops the talent of children and they can learn a lot through this game and such games should be organized so that the culture of the country can be preserved and children can be entertained and educated through such events.

I pray a lot for your son so that he can play better in the future. It is an art and it is very nice for you as a parent and guardian to see the happy moments of children, and I am very happy to read such a beautiful post. Best wishes.
