Last week was my son's birthday as he reashed 11 years old, and we celebrated it at our home. I am going to write about it here, and I hope you will enjoy reading it.

My son had his birthday last week. The month before that, my daughter also had her birthday; however, since she was staying in a hostel, she was unable to come home—she couldn't make it because she was away attending an NCC camp at the time.

Therefore, we decided to celebrate by cutting cakes for both of them on the same day. To this end, a family friend of ours ordered and brought two cakes—one for each of them. Similarly, our relatives and friends also arrived for the occasion. The cake-cutting ceremony was scheduled for the evening, by which time everyone had gathered. I had also made the necessary preparations for the guests; I cooked Paneer Bajji and Payasam as snacks for everyone and had also prepared and kept soft drinks ready. Once everyone had arrived, I served the soft drinks to all as a welcome refreshment.

After chatting for a while, we proceeded to cut the cakes; when I unveiled the two cakes, it came as a complete surprise to both my son and my daughter. My daughter was particularly surprised because she had not expected to be cutting a cake that day, having assumed that the celebration would be held only for my son. We then placed the two cakes side-by-side and asked both of them to cut them together.

Both of them placed candles on their cakes, lit them, made their silent wishes, and then blew them out. All of us—the elders—joined together to sing a song and offer them our best wishes. Although this event lasted only for a short while, it filled our hearts with immense joy.

After cutting the cake, the couple fed pieces to each other. Then, they fed small morsels to everyone present. Following that, we sliced ​​both cakes and distributed them among the guests. We then served everyone the Paneer Bajji and Payasam we had prepared. After eating, everyone offered their best wishes to the kids.

Afterwards, the guests attending the event presented gifts they had brought for our son. He was absolutely delighted; as he received the gifts, unwrapped them, and looked through them, he was filled with immense joy. Among the gifts they gave were various toys, such as a remote-controlled car and toy guns. He was particularly fond of the AK-47 replica; eager to open it immediately, he unwrapped it and began playing with it right away.

Thus, that day's birthday celebration turned out to be extremely joyful and delightful. My son and daughter were overjoyed, and seeing their happiness, we too felt immense joy. We offer our gratitude to the Almighty for granting us such a wonderful day.
