SLC S-30-W6 || "Traditional Steam Cooking- Steamed Cake"

Assalamu Alaikum friends, starting with wishing everyone good health, making steamed sweets at home is always a great alternative for mothers. This week @jyoti-thelight challenged us to make a steamed cake of our choice like an educational course which I really liked. I needed something different and fun to snack on with tea or coffee in the afternoon and this steamed cake is a delicious and fun snack that I can keep. But to make this steamed cake, I opened my fridge and saw that there was liquid milk and KitKat chocolate there so I didn't delay any longer and gathered all the remaining ingredients and prepared to make the cake. And the cake I made was delicious and fun to eat. In the end, it was pretty good, I am going to share my experience with you all.

Step-1: First, collect all the ingredients. The ingredients that were not at home, I collected from the market.


Step-2: First, put oil in a bowl, add 1 cup of sugar to it and beat it with a wooden spoon for some time. When the sugar melts, add an egg and beat it well.

Step-3: Sift the flour with the help of a sieve. Once the flour is sifted, add 1 teaspoon of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of cornflour and mix well.


Step-4: Beat oil, sugar, eggs and add flour to it and mix it well. Then add 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence to it.

Step-5: Once all the ingredients are added, add liquid milk and mix it well.

Step-6: Now when everything is mixed, finally add the flour and beat it well. Until the mixture is not sticky, when the sticky feeling disappears, stop beating.


Step-7: Brush oil in another bowl and then pour the mixture into it. Spread a little amount of talmishri on top of the mixture. Then leave the mixture to rest for 1 hour.


Step-8: After 1 hour, put the pan on the stove and heat it lightly, then put the cake mixture in it and cover it. Keep it on low heat for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, when the cake puffs up, take it off the heat and serve it in a simple way. When the cake cools down, cut it and serve it in front of the whole family, they are very happy to eat it.

Yes, I have made chocolate cake, vanilla, banana, yogurt cakes using water and heat method using my pan and cooker, and they are much softer and moist to eat, my family and I like to eat those cakes a lot. I think if I collect the ingredients at home, I can easily make it at home with the help of steam anytime, although I buy the common products in pre-packaged condition. I am giving an approximate price of the amount used through the list according to the price at the time of purchase from the market near my house.
