Taking care of my skin

Hello steemit family
If you thought my last tech obsession was too much then brace yourselves because I’ve officially entered my futuristic skincare era.And yes,the picture above is a photo of me looking like a glowing robot. The mask I have on my face is an LED light facial therapy mask.
Lately,my social media feeds have been flooded with aesthetic “get ready with me videos” and almost every one of them have these glowing LED masks in their routines. They could all swear that the mask could give a perfect glass skin glow, clear dark spots and boost collagen production .As a major beauty and self care lover, I kept reading about them and decided it was finally time to get one.
When the box arrived, it felt like unboxing a secret high level tech.it’s this sleek white mask with a completely smooth finish.
But the real fun starts when you put it on,
the moment the bright red light hits, it gives this sci-fi effect.

Honestly, the glow is pretty intense it completely floods the entire room.I know it looks crazy but behind that robot look is red light that penetrates deep into the skin to stimulate collagen production, target acne causing bacteria and calm down any random irritation,so while I look like a sci-fi villain my skin is getting premium spa treatment.
I won’t lie to you guys, walking past a mirror and catching a glimpse of your reflection is a bit scary but hilarious, but it is kind of a vibe and I actually like how dramatic it is.
I started incorporating it into my nighttime routine. After cleansing my face,I keep it on for about 20 minutes and since you can’t really do much with it on,it forces me to sit still and relax and it keeps me from doom scrolling on my phone. Once the 20 minutes are over the mask comes off and I immediately layer on a rich moisturizer and hydrating serum while my face is primed and ready to absorb everything. It’s still early days, but my skin feels soft, calm and relaxed after every session.I’m so excited to see the long term results and if it actually gives the glow every one online swears by.

Have you ever tried LED light therapy? Or are you too scared of how it looks? Let me know your skincare holy grails in the comments.
