long time ago, missionaries came to our area to establish schools and hospitals, bringing development to our community. They called a meeting to make an enquiry through elders, requesting enough hectares of land. They summoned a meeting in the village hall, and all the elders, including the chiefs, gathered themselves. The white missionaries were called in for interrogation and to provide a proper explanation of their intentions.

This took place in the village town hall. Among these elders, only one to two people understood English properly. During the meeting, the white men spoke through interpreters. After exchanging greetings as tradition demands, the white missionaries bowed their heads in response and were highly welcomed.

They started by saying that the purpose of their coming was to bring the gospel, but for them to do this, there must be good healthcare and good mental training, which is education. A good number of elders nodded their heads and accepted it with good faith, while a few disagreed saying their major handwork was fishingfar.

After all was said and done, in response to the request of the missionaries, the village chiefs granted them the land. The missionaries also provided free medical treatment and trained some of the youth at home and abroad, creating job opportunities for the teeming young people. they also constucted roads buit houses for the poor and constructed boreholes . The missionaries did as they promised, and most of the long-standing schools, churses, and hospitals seen in the country were established by these early missionaries
