The Diary Game: Making boiled eggs for breakfast and going to the bookshop to buy a book. [19/08/2026]
Morning came in slow today and the first thing I did was get to the kitchen. I was hungry but I did not want anything heavy so I just boiled four eggs. The eggs were in that blue glass plate and the light from the window was hitting them so they looked warm. I ate two and kept the other two for later because I knew my day was going to be long.
After eating I sat down at my desk and opened my laptop. I had edits to finish and my eyes were already tired but I needed to focus. I grabbed a cold Monster from the fridge and held it up while the timeline was loading, the drink helped me stay awake. I told myself I would just work for two hours but it turned into four hours and my back started to hurt.
Afternoon was for doing something different because I was tired of staring at the screen. I decided to go to a bookstore to look for something to read. The shelves were packed and I was just walking around when a bright yellow book caught my eye. The title was Igbo Women Nearly Killed Me Thank God For My Wife by Umunna Christian Williams. I laughed out loud in the store because the title was too much. I stood there and read the back for like ten minutes. I ended up buying it because it looked funny and interesting.So i paid the vendor,collected the book and left.
Evening was food time and I met up with my cousin at a small spot. We were both tired and wanted something proper so we ordered goat and rice. The meat came on a wooden tray and it was a full goat head. We ate with our hands and used the spoon for the rice.
Night was quiet when I got back home. I did not turn on the TV or anything loud. I just sat on my bed with the book I bought in the afternoon. The house was calm and I could hear sounds from outside. I read a few pages and it was exactly what I thought it would be, honest and funny and a little too real. My eyes were heavy from staring at the screen all morning so I did not want to stay up long but I just had to come here and write as usual
