The fastest ascent descent was recorded by Swiss- Ecudorian mountain guide Karl Egloff,who ran to the top and back in 6hrs and 42 minutes on August 13th 2014.While the fastest female ascent and descent was held by Anne- Marrie Flammersfeld on 27th July 2017.She achieved her feat in 8hrs and 32minutes .Despite an age limit of 10years for climbing permit,Keat Boyd of Los Angeles was only seven years old when summited ,Kilimanjaro on 21th January,2008. The oldest man to summit the mountain was U.S's Robert Wheeler,who was 85years and 201 days when he summited on 2nd October 2014.
