Doodles are simple images that can have concrete representations of meaning or only consist of random and abstract lines, generally without ever lifting a drawing device out of paper, in this case usually called "graffiti". Google doodle figure today is Sir William Henry Perkin is an inventor of the first purple colorant synthesis. The man who was born in England on March 12, 1838, accidentally found this synthesis dye in his research on malaria drugs. At that time Sir William Henry Perkin studied under the guidance of August Wilhelm Von Hofman, a chemist from Germany.

Google sudah menjadi kebutuhan bagi kalangan pelajar bahkan pengusaha dalam segala aspek yang menyangkut kegiatannya. Google pun selalu meningkatkan kinerja produknya agar pencariannya lebih akurat.

Salah satu dari fitur yang terdapat di Google adalah Google Doodle. Doodle adalah gambar yang dibuat saat perhatian seseorang didekati. Doodle adalah gambar sederhana yang dapat memiliki makna representasi konkret atau hanya terdiri dari garis acak dan abstrak, umumnya tanpa pernah mengangkat perangkat gambar dari kertas, dalam hal ini biasanya disebut "coretan" .(wikipedia)

Nah kali ini saya akan membahas tentang siapa tokoh google doodle hari ini.
Tokoh google doodle hari ini adalah Sir William Henry Perkin merupakan seorang penemu pewarna sintesis pertama berwarna ungu. Pria yang lahir di inggris ini pada 12 Maret 1838, secara tidak sengaja menemukan pewarna sintesis ini dalam penelitiannya terhadap obat malaria. Kala itu Sir William Henry Perkin belajar dibawah bimbingan August Wilhem Von Hofman, seorang ahli kimia dari Jerman.

Sebagai asisten di laboratorium, Sir William Henry Perkin bertugas membersihkan kotoran dari gelas kimia yang digunakan untuk penelitian tentang obat malaria. Disaat membersihkannya, dia menemukan sebuah zat aneh yang meninggalkan noda ungu saat di encerkan dengan alkohol.

Pada masa itu, indusri tekstil sudah mengenal varian warna ungu. Namun harga warna ungu pada saat itu terbilang sangat mahal dan tidak tahan lama. Nah dengan ditemukannya pewarna ungu memberikan harapan bagi industri tekstil untuk mendapatkan warna ungu dengan harga yang lebih murah dan tahan lama.
