What If Cartesian Thinking Is What Is Holding Us Back?

WrongScience.png

There are many old texts that say something like, "There is no such thing as a straight line." So, what happens if all of Modern Materialistic Science is based on Cartesian thought and Cartesian coordinates?

Lets look at the Earth, and its, reported, movement through space. In an X, Y, Z, t coordinate system, it is almost impossible to get your head around. The moon going around the earth has all those dimensions changing. None of them are fixed. And the numbers fluctuate all over the place.

But, if we take a circular coordinate system, then most of the coordinates make sense. Some almost perfectly reveal their nature. The idea of equal areas in equal times most perfectly defines the movements of the planets.

However, this is just one aspect of the legacy of Descartes.

"I think, therefore i am" (Cogito Ergo Sum) is Descartes most famous statement. Most people think this is quite high philosophy, but it is not. As just a taste, it limits your being to what is knowable through your thinking, limited by the physical world. Yogis, Monks, Buddhists… have all known that the thinking mind is the smallest of that which is knowable.

So, in following Cartesian thinking / philosophy, we limit ourselves to the smallest of the small. And, this is evident in what we call "science"

The coordinate system

X, Y, Z coordinate system seems ok, normal, logical, to people who live in boxes. It is VERY good for 3D worlds designed in computer games.

However, it really breaks down when we talk about any large dimensions. Especially if spaces bends or curves. If, between here and there, it is not a straight line, then the X,Y,Z coordinate system really becomes messy.

Take this for instance. If the Earth is flat. (like the UN flag) The part that we stand on. They X,Y,Z are all perpendicular. Now, imagine that this flat earth is curved into a toroid. The Earth painted on the inside surface. Then, what happens to the coordinate system?

If you aren't prepared for measuring the inside of a toroid, you will start getting really weird measurements and think that your measuring is in error. The people become very confused. And it will be because we accepted a system that really doesn't work in the real world beyond houses, buildings and bridges.

I think, therefor i am

Sounds logical. Sounds rational. Sounds scientific.

It only does because our logic and rationality are based in Cartesian thinking.
And we have really accepted it, through and through.

People describe themselves as thinking beings. If you study ancient literature, especially religious texts, the human is rarely defined by their brain. The heart is usually center.

Now if you go to Yogis, meditators, people who have out of body experiences, none of them think that thinking happens in the brain. It happens elsewhere, and is picked up by the brain.

FURTHER! it isn't really the thinking. It is the ability that the human has to perceive that they are thinking. That self reflective ability.

The computer could be said to think. Lots of science minded people believe that just a bunch more transistors, and the computer will be thinking. However, it is our ability to think about our thinking that makes us who we are. And i haven't seen any computer scientist succeed at making that work in silicone.

We are entering an era where the heart will become center

We will actually talk about heart thought and brain thought. Like, did you get that idea from your head or your heart?

We will find, as the Yogis have discussed for centuries, that the thinking brain is actually one of the smallest sources of information. We will talk about how we limited ourselves to the tiniest subset of our reality, back in the Cartesian era.

The brain is great, except it is soooo easy to fool the brain. The assumptions that we use color EVERYTHING. Today, we believe that the brain is our most important organ. Back in ancient Egypt, they preserved every organ in the body after death. The brain, they just scooped out with a hook shoved up through the nose.

We are on the brink of rediscovering a WHOLE LOT more world out there to know. Things that you can't see with the eyes, but can perceive with the third eye. And, as more people open their third eye, these other realms become "real". As in, science stops ignoring them.

Modern doctors ignore 6/7ths of the body. And, of the part they believe is real, the largest organ in the body wasn't even noticed until a decade ago. Cancer will be cured, just because we will see how it starts and grows. As, an analogy, cancer starts as a seed, and grows its roots, and then after all that growth, pushes up through the ground. Today, we notice the cancer when it is a small bush, or more often, a full tree. And then we chop down the tree, thinking we got the cancer. This is all done because of our assumptions that the physical body is what is real.

Modern Materialistic Science is going to fall apart because more people start listening to their heart, and the information it provides. We will find that the heart thinking is much more about whole systems. And our deconstructionist science will be shown to be lacking.

Current scientific paradigm emphasizes pure, rational, thought. However, that doesn't exist. Assumptions always exist. If you believe in straight lines and three dimensional coordinates, it will color all of your understandings of interactions. If you discard information, because it is not "real", then you will get less than half the picture. And if you use the information that is left, you end up with an incomplete science, at best.

Fortunately, truth is always there. Waiting to be discovered. Or rediscovered. It can't even be hidden, only misdirecting people to look elsewhere works for a time. And Cartesian thought has been a misdirection, telling us to look inside this little bubble, while ignoring everything outside of it. The problem is, the entire world is outside of it. It could be said, that we have been exploring the laboratory, one room, in a building, in a city, on a continent on Earth. Science is about to become VERY LARGE.

The Cartesian Coordinate system is just one of several we can use. There are polar coordinates… However, my post here might make you think that we will just discard the Cartesian Coordinate system, for some other 3D, linear measurement system. But, this is not the case, where we are heading has more dimensions, probably 5D, and the dimensions are curved. Those curves are going to be the biggest breakthrough in science. One curve will be the enclosed circle. It is really hard for me to describe the other curves. (I could point to the "black hole" curve, that is shown in many science text books, however, i do not feel that curve actually exists. And if it does, it will be part of the curve of a toroidal like structure)

Exciting times ahead in science!
