Covering a Christian Gathering Last Weekend

On the 10th of May last weekend, I decided to have the best of weekends with my brothers and sisters in the faith. We call it Get-together and the Get-together happened after our Christian meeting on Sunday. Before the get-together, arrangements were made on food and other activities. A full goat was purchased for this purpose and in the budget was white soup with pounded yam and Jollof Rice. These two foods were the food budgeted for that occasion . I was put in charge of the media.

So as the media personnel, I'll tell you everything that happened on the occasion using a 3-minute video. Preparations were made for the place to be arranged and DJ was also available to hit the background with music. After doing my part in arranging the event center for the gathering by 4pm, I visited my friend who was in charge of preparing small chops.

The small chops prepared were basically meat and it was in a cooler. It filled the cooler of food to the brim. I chewed till I was tired of chewing the meat. For the first time I became tired of chewing 10 pieces of meat. This was what was prepared as small chops for the occasion with drinks.

Covering the Event

The video you'll watch portrays how the event went. It all started with a large number of families and single ones coming in to have their seats.. As they arrived, the MC did his job by entertaining them before the event kick-started. It was meant to be a Christian gathering with a touch of fun activities.

A prayer was said and the chairman opened the gathering with words. There was enough giveaway and a bible quiz came afterwards, one that had to do with cards and identifying the character. After this fun activity, the children had a role to play instead of being left out. They were called upon to sing a few songs to entertain and motivate the audience. They did so marvelously with their beautiful voices, accompanied by sound instruments.

After the songs by the children, adults in the gathering were given an opportunity to engage in a track event called Sac Race. This Sac Race was done by adult brothers and sisters and younger brothers and sisters. This particular fun activity was the most interesting. You can imagine how everyone in the event center came to watch the race. It was very interesting and comical because people fell in the sac.

After this activity, other activities were done and these included; Bible race, hot seat by couples and single ones, dance competition, etc The DJ did a great job in keeping us entertained, always. As the events were unfolding, good and drinks were shared around. The foods were of good quality and sizable. There was even room for extra.

The merriment kept on increasing and photographs were taken as well. I made sure everyone in the event was covered. I ate my own food and drank enough drinks before the dance party began after closure of the event with prayer by the chairman. It was a joyous event to be honest. It's been a while since I had such fun activity with people I worship God together with. I'd never forget that Sunday. A weekend to remember.
