The month of Ramadan is always a blessed time, especially when we can share with those in need. One particularly meaningful activity in our village is the distribution of zakat al-fitr (alms) to the poor and needy. This annual event demonstrates community care and togetherness.

a short break

That evening, after all the zakat al-fitr (alms) from residents had been collected at the village hall, we, along with village officials and several youth, immediately prepared to distribute them. The atmosphere in the village hall was lively. Everyone took on their respective roles, from registering recipients to preparing the zakat packages for distribution.

The zakat al-fitr collected consisted of rice and several other basic necessities. Everything was neatly packaged for easy transportation and distribution. Once everything was ready, we began our journey to the homes of eligible residents.

We distributed the packages to ensure a faster and more equitable distribution. I was part of a group tasked with delivering the zakat from house to house. Even though it was getting late, our enthusiasm remained strong, as we knew this assistance meant a lot to those in need.

When we arrived at the residents' homes, they greeted us with gratitude. There were smiles of emotion on their faces as they received the aid. Moments like these are truly touching, as we can see firsthand the meaning of caring and togetherness.

For us, this activity wasn't just about distributing zakat, but also about strengthening social ties among the villagers. We got to know each other better, help each other, and feel a strong sense of togetherness. Walking from house to house at night was a unique experience. Although we were tired, our hearts felt light because we could share our joy with others. Every step we took felt more meaningful because it was accompanied by a sincere intention to help.

This zakat fitrah distribution activity also served as a reminder to all of us of the importance of sharing and caring for others, especially in this blessed month. We hope that what we do can benefit and ease the burden on our brothers and sisters in need.

Finally, after all the zakat packages had been distributed, we returned to the village hall with a sense of relief and gratitude. Tonight was a truly memorable moment, where the sense of togetherness and need was truly felt within our village community.
