The first Eid was full of togetherness, including enjoying meatballs at Simpang Rangkaya

The first day of Eid is always the most anticipated moment after a full month of fasting. So it was for my little family and I, who felt joy from the morning. After performing Eid prayers and shaking hands with family at home, we prepared to visit relatives.

From morning until noon, we toured several families' homes. The Eid atmosphere was palpable, with traditional dishes served at each home, from ketupat (rice cakes) and opor ayam (chicken in coconut milk) to various mouth-watering pastries. Each visit was filled with laughter and warm stories, strengthening family bonds.

My little daughter also seemed very happy. She enjoyed the new atmosphere, meeting new people, and occasionally sampling the various dishes served. Seeing her happiness brought me joy as a father.

As the afternoon approached, we continued our visits to several other homes. Although we were tired from the long day, being together with family made everything feel light and enjoyable. Eid is indeed a perfect time to strengthen bonds that might be less common on normal days.

As evening fell, after a long day of activities, we decided to go out for a bit to relax. We went to the Simpang Rangkaya area to enjoy a warm and enjoyable meal.

We chose the famous bakso (meatball soup), and a warm bowl of meatballs was the perfect way to end the day. The savory, warm broth was a perfect treat after a long day of activities.

The evening atmosphere around the intersection was also quite lively. Many people came out with their families to enjoy the Eid al-Fitr atmosphere. The village streetlights and the sound of vehicles added to the lively atmosphere of the night.

For me, this first day of Eid was very memorable. Not only because I was able to visit with my extended family, but also because I was able to spend time with my little one happily. Simple moments like these become truly precious memories. From morning to night, togetherness is always the key factor that makes Eid so special.

I hope we can continue to experience this joy in the years to come with our loved ones.
