What In the Midst of Crisis Means to Me.

I am very familiar with the term in the midst of crisis since I have been experiencing it in my personal life. It is being in a position when all things are unstable, bewildered and even overwhelming to me. It is the moment in life when everything is not working out as expected and you start doubting yourself, your choices and even the future.

There are various types of crisis. It can be monetary problems, failure at school, emotional distress or family problems. It can come out of the blues and at other times it accumulates up until it is too heavy to bear. It is such a time that you are caught in a storm and are without a clear sense of direction. You can be scared, anxious or even hopeless.

Nonetheless, I have now understood that being in the middle of a crisis is not only about the pain or disorientation. It is also a time of revelation. It shows what you can actually endure, your flaws, and what you can endure despite the hardships. It is a defining time that can break you or make you, depending on how one reacts to it.

What I Do When I Am in a Crisis

The first thing that I attempt to do whenever in a crisis is to calm down. I have come to know that panic is no good in situations. In a situation that is already tough, you can only make matters worse by thinking about it with fear and anxiety, which only complicates the situation of finding a solution.

And hence I breathe deeply and attempt to clear my mind. On occasions, I have to get out of the world and take a break to think. I also pray at such moments since it provides me with the feeling of comfort and hope. It helps me always remember that I am not the only one and I can find a way out even when I am not able to see it at the moment.

Once I slack, I start taking time to analyze the situation. I put myself questions such as: What is the problem? What caused it? What can I do to fix it? I attempt to make small steps towards a solution even when I am not able to solve everything in one go.

I also confide in another person whom I trust such as a friend or family member. Being able to share my thoughts makes and keeps me light and at times gives me a new way to see things.

It is not always that one can easily manage a crisis, however, I have come to understand that it is possible to remain calm and think clearly and do little things that can make a huge difference.

Are Crises Strengthening or Weakening People?

I believe that there are two ways of approaching a crisis; it can either make people stronger or weaker, depending on the way they respond to it. A crisis is like a test. It does not necessarily render you strong, it just provides you with a chance to become stronger.

Other individuals let crisis overwhelm them. They lose their hope, give up without much struggle and even some times get scared to move on. Conversely, crisis is a stepping stone to some individuals. They get corrected on what they make wrong and learn to adjust to the circumstances and emerge better than they were.

I personally think that crisis can make us stronger provided we are ready to learn out of it. It teaches us patience, endurance and boldness. It challenges us out of our comfort and compels us to develop. We might never prove ourselves as we can do without challenges.

Crisis is therefore not only a problem to me, but also an opportunity to grow and improve myself.

Lessons I Learned and the way I was shaped.

Another experience that has helped me a lot was when I encountered a severe financial crisis. Things were quite challenging one time and I was not adequately supplied to sustain my needs. It was a time of tension and anxiety and to be truthful to you, at some point I was lost.

Nonetheless, the same experience transformed me in a number of ways. I also learnt how to use money more wisely and that I need to put my needs first before my wants. I was able to be more disciplined and mindful about my expenditures. I have also been taught to plan and save in case of hardships.

Patience is another valuable lesson that I learned. At this time I also knew that not all things just occur overnight. At times, one must just bear the process and hope that things will improve over time.

My attitude also changed to a greater extent. It made me more assured of my skills to deal with situations because I knew that I have experienced difficult situations and survived.

Above all, I discovered that nothing ever lasts forever. Regardless of how grim things can be, it can always improve. Such a conviction has remained with me and it has been helping me every time I encounter new challenges.

Conclusion

To sum up, it is never pleasant to be in the middle of the crisis but it is a part of life, something we just cannot do away with. It challenges our ability, endurance and our attitude. Taking my personal experience, I have realized the response-barometer to crisis is more important than the crisis itself.

We ought to take it as a chance to develop and enrich ourselves as opposed to letting it destroy us. Through composure, clear thought processes and experience, we are able to come out of even the most difficult circumstances.

I can readily state that the crises I encountered were the things that made me a stronger and more intelligent individual. And because of that, I am thankful, since those hard times taught me some life lessons, which I will continue to practice throughout my life.
