Visiting OOP Gym And Assisting Okere-blessing who visited my city

It's been long I visited the gym in my place of work. The reason being that I no longer live close to it. I was formerly living inside the school, in the hospitality apartment there before being able to get my own apartment. But I was only able to get one that is close to our permanent site. Yes, it was intentional because work is ongoing and plans are in place for the school to relocate to her permanent cite. That informed my decision to look for accommodation close to it.

The gym inside Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic became far for me that I no longer visit often. Additionally, I was yet to be allocated an office where I could operate from and as such, no base to keep my stuffs after visiting the gym. But just a few weeks ago, I was allocated an office and then I began having the thought of visiting the gym again.

So, I made plans on when and how to visit early, gym with them, shower and still meet up with my work. Well, being a lecturer, I know my lecture days and I know how to go about it. Therefore, on Thursday, I visited that gym for the second time in that week. This was last week and coincidentally, it was when @okere-blessing wanted to come and pick her Original certificate. I was told to assist her go about the processes which I had been working on for weeks. Thankfully, it is now at the verge of collection.

That morning, I packed my stuffs and went out to the gym and I was able to train myself for like 30 minutes. Then I join the men and the boys who were using the weights because I wanted to carry too. I want to build my strength and work on some parts of my body and build muscle too.

My exercise took me till past 9 am when I was sure that offices are open, then I went down to the dressing room there at the sports complex and took my shower, dressed as a staff and went to my office to get things done

I began looking into what I had for the day, receiving the students who were coming for their project topics approval since I was assigned to supervise some of them who are about to complete their National Diploma.

After a while, I received a call from Okere-bkesing that she is on her way. I had to round up my activities, and kept some for later time. I also was supposed to have lectures that day but it was declared a lecture free day since a well known man was being buried. Then I went out to meet with Blessing at the Admin complex or rather, she came to my department and we went together.

We quickly went to the certificate collection office and they searched and didn't see hers. We went back to where I had confirmed that her certificate had been prepared and sent for signing. But there was a challenge. The challenge was that the teachers recruitment process in the secondary and primary schools were ongoing and the interview was that day, so most of those candidates needed to also collect their certificate for the interview and so priority was given them. They crowded the whole place and there was no way they could even attend to us. All efforts were futile and we couldn't succeed.

I personally felt disappointed but I couldn't help it. We had to leave them because those staff there were already stressed and we could even see the stress written all over. After waiting to see if we could be attended to, we had to concede and left. Blessing returned to her city of residence while I returned to my office finish up my work for the day. It was so annoying but what can I do?

I will have to go back on Tuesday which is today to make sure that the certificate is found, and kept for collection before Blessing could come on Thursday again or perhaps earlier than that since this week is also a work free day, at least from that Thursday if I am not mistaken due to the Easter holiday. We can only wait and see how it goes!
