Wow, this is a great walk, @ABitcoinSkeptic!! You've taken a great selection of History and cultural aspects in Korea. I've really learned a lot. Is it my impression or there is a careful distribution of historical sites with the newest buildings. I think they get along perfectly, the view of the mountain makes the city more majestic, even with the smoke!

Perhaps you can think of it as the only popular alphabet in the world with an actual whitepaper.

This is just great analogy!! :)

I send my best wishes for you and yours, may your days be joyful and full of beauty!!

Thanks. They did a really good job in downtown Seoul, especially on the main streets. Keep in mind, most of the old stuff is newly restored to the point where the ruins were unrecognizable. You have to climb up the hills quite a bit or stray far out of downtown to see actual ruins.

Glad you like the alphabet white paper analogy. I think there was a weird UN language that had one as well, but it is only 100 or so years old and was never spoken by the general public anywhere.

I won't be lost if some day I travel there!! :)

Isn't that language the Esperanto? 🤔💬

Best vibes, @ABitcoinSkeptic!!

Yeah, Esperanto. I think some Europeans also tried to push it for a while, but it wasn't popular.

Mi ne scias kiel ĝi sonas, sed mi sendas al vi grandan brakumon en Esperanto! :)

Wow.... awesome Photography.upvoted.

Thank you kindly!

Superb. Actually i love the place that has mountains nearby. Keep sharing such a nice posts like this.

Thank you. Most places in Seoul have mountains nearby, especially Northern Seoul.

Beautiful and amazing. What a great place to get out and practice some social distancing. Happy Good Friday Skeptic.

Thank you, glad you like it. I may actually go out to take a look at the main palace during spring time soon.

That's a nice piece of photojournalism and history there! They clearly take their public monuments pretty seriously.

It looks like the cops are all wearing masks, but not so much the general public... have the restrictions been somewhat eased, in South Korea?

Actually, I was there on the last Friday of January just before Lunar New Years'. Most people were just wearing masks for the dust still as it had just hit the media only about 1 week before and there were less than 10 cases in Korea at that point.

Now 95% of people are wearing masks, especially in crowded areas. Only those who are clueless (random) or being difficult (generally old men) don't.

However, we never really had strong restrictions. The bars and clubs were just closed this week actually. There is an election campaign on right now. Most of the amusement parks are still open in some capacity. The subways are still jam-packed during rush hours. The grocery stores and shopping malls are only less crowded, but they are still giving out free samples (lol). The only thing is schools and festivals remain cancelled or online. I think the strain we got wasn't the bad one Europe and America have. 75% of people who caught it in that cult (150,000 or so members tested 2700 infected) didn't have serious symptoms. Also, if you do end up with serious symptoms, the government acts fast to isolate it using phone and credit card records. Concerning, but effective.
