Model Kit Review, 1/72 scale Junkers JU-86

Hello, steemians!

Here's another model kit review!

For this model kit review, I'll be looking at the 1/72 scale plastic model kit of a German early WW2 bomber, the Junkers JU-86. This plastic model kit was produced by the company Italaerei. This is another kit that was bought on the secondary market on Ebay. This particular model has been in production since the early 1970s, and as far as I can determine, this particular box version is either the first issue in 1973, or the re-box that came out in 1976. The box art is pretty much the same between them. There have been a lot of changes to the box art over the years, and in 1980, the spelling of the company name changed from "Italaerei" to "Italeri".

The JU-86 was designed and built in the early 1930s as a passenger airplane and also as a bomber. The passenger version was capable of carrying 10 passengers. The bomber version was first tested in action by the Condor Legion during the Spanish civil war. By 1940, the airplane was deemed as obsolete, being inferior to the Heinkel HE-111 bomber. A later high altitude reconnaissance version of the JU-86 was developed during WW2. Most of the earlier versions were relegated to training duties by 1940. The JU-86 was brought back into service during the siege of Stalingrad to use as a transport plane for supplies to the German front lines. The airplane was only marginally successful in that role due to it's limited cargo capacity and it's lack of flight range.

Here's my video for this kit review. The video is about 9 and a half minutes long.

Thanks for checking out my kit review video! I hope you found it interesting!
