Friends Reunion - Wholesome , Easy Fun
There's something so powerful about reunions. Any reunions , really. Just the prospect about a group of people talking about an experience they genuinely love and have them admire it and be proud of it is enough to put an encouraging smile to my face. And for a show as powerful and heavily watched as Friends , this reunion was bound to put smile on everybody's faces. And it did.
I have to be honest. I am not a die hard fan of Friends. I think it's funny , at times. But maybe it's just the fact that I like people hugging , I loved the reunion, There's a lot of hugging in the show.
Ok no , I'll accept , there's more to this reunion than people hugging. And I think it's due to the very genuine nature of this unscripted episode. The cast is genuinely having fun and it's all so noticeable that after 17 tears of not working together , they are still the friends we remember , just not fictionalised this time/. The bloopers and the cut scenes - a treat to watch , also gives attention to the bond these people share , and I think happiness is contagious , so it spreads to the audience.
I was expecting this unscripted episode to be so ready to be a mess , what with the appearance of unrelated guests and cameos , but I have to say , not a single minute of the Reunion felt like a filler. The swapping between scenes to scene disallowed any drag that an individual scene could make the audience feel.
And what it did best was to reiterate nostalgia. The fountain , the editing style , the scenes from the show in context , the set all allowed me that wonderful 'home; feeling that I am used to when I watch friends.
A cherry on top for Friends fan , is the insight you get when you watch the reunion. The creators of the show and the actors told us aspects of the show that were previously unnoticed , and might even make the characters seem in a whole new light.
It was so easy to dramatize a reunion such as this , but the sentiments in the reunion come naturally and it's simply wonderful to see such strong positive emotions.
If I still haven't been able to convince you to try Friends Reunion . just know that listening to Matt Leblanc say ' Bullshit " to Ross' story will make your day.

Ok, so it isn't an actual episode but just kind of a sit down where they recall all the moments from the show? If that is the case I am happy they are doing this but I was under the impression that they were going to make an episode of acting as their characters - which is something I did NOT want to see happen.
I'll give this a look soon because even though it appears as though you are not a fan of the series, it is one of my favorite series of all time.
Yes , it's a sit down but it's not totally random. The activities are planned , and are really fun. You'll love it. Also , the creator interviews makes you learn new things about the cast too.
( Sorry for the late reply , I hope you have already seen it )
