STEEMALIVE ROAD SHOW - SCOUTING FOR BIGGINNERS

A Comprehensive Report

So at about 10:20am I and @nenyebaby took off from home heading to St Michaels Road the center point for the Road Show. @samuel20 and @ruggedangel along with other two team members were already stationed at the location.

Immediately after greetings, we swung into action, sharing flyers to passersby, some will stand to look at the flyer and listen while others will swiftly pass by. Some who gave ear to me, asked questions about what Steemit stands for, they were provided with reasonable answers.

But many still gave excuses like "am in a hurry", I'll come back to your stand before you leave". It takes real courage to walk up to a total stranger and talk him into signing up. Nevertheless, it worths the effort.

Working as a team

As a team, we support each other in reaching out to people. Once a team member meet someone who showed interest, one of us will step up and add voice to whatever he/she is telling the listener either by showing the person one's own page or by giving more explainations to enlighten the listener. That will enable the listener to become convinced and be willing to get registered.

That was how @nenyebaby who have not been well grounded in this platform was helped to get someone registered. It happened that after she tactfully asked a store owner for a stool to sit on, she also asked the lady whether she know about Steemit. The lady said No. Then she began to tell her what she could. I quickly took their snapshots and went up to them, I opened my page and showed the lady. That sparked up her interest and she requested for her signing up.

I immediately run the sign-up in behalf of @nenyebaby. The lady was helped to write her Introductory post, @nenyebaby will present the registration in her report.

I spoked with a good number of people along the road but couldn't personally enroll anyone. But I was not discouraged anyway because some days are like that.

Some I took time to discuss with that didn't yield result are here below.

Giving Up? Never

Fortunately, after the whole road show ended and entertainment enjoyed, on my way back to my Steemit Shop, a man whom I've shared the Steemit message with months ago met me. He declared his readiness to get signed up. What a joy that at last I'm going to enroll someone today.

I told him to bring his phone which he did. He was signed up. His username is @johnval. He will write his Achievement 1 post tomorrow.

Just as I was about entering my Shop, another prospect greeted me. My response? Come and get your registration in Steemit. What do I mean? My banner spoke the rest. She was enrolled right away. Her username is @roseful, her Introductory post will be ready tomorrow because her phone battery was too low for setting up her page so she just subscribed to Newcomers community and Steemalive.

Don't forget our usual item No 7 - Refreshments. We had it together before I made my way back to workshop.
